Jake Lamb—Not a 1st basemen.

Featured Replies

Jake Lamb is a defensive liability at 1st base. Grandl would have made both plays. Why carry 3 catchers? If Yermin is on the bench he can catch in an emergency. This defense has to improve.

And the award for the most predictable thread goes to...

This Lamb is being sacrificed

Lamb should not be on the roster but he is a good defender. Maybe he had a bad day but statistically he is pretty solid at first.

Still he shouldn't be on the roster, the sox have enough 1b/dh types on that roster

well.. pretty sure we will never see him there again..

Hope we do not see Lamb at 1st again. Certainly not against the better teams. Sox D looks bad today.

Would never know that Lamb has been a good defensive first baseman. Footwork looked awful and he just appeared to be out of his element. Also hard to believe that Yoan and Tim almost muffed another pop up with a near collision.

I mean if there’s ever a day to DFA Lamb, it’s tomorrow. Just not sure who would take his spot.

Exactly. Feels like he's here until Engel comes back.

Is that a veiled threat?

Yeah DFAing him makes sense but really at this moment the sox don't have anybody to replace him so you can just as well keep him in the bench and play him once a week.

Once Engel or anyone else of the injured guys comes back he probably is gone.

Hell, I’d take Rutherford instead of Lamb right now.
