Zavala is up, per DVS

Puuuuuuuke

Zavala actually makes the most sense if it’s short term. They’ll just DFA him again to clear the roster spot when Yaz is ready. Can’t do that with Perez

Shows that the idea of promoting guys like Perez, Sanchez or Sosa is just not going to happen…

It’s about 40 man space. Once those guys go on, they have to stay on.

In the end, they will try trading for someone (the dreaded veteran) first before waving the white flag.

There's plenty of shit to cut lose from the current 40 man.

Another hamstring injury for a Sox player, it makes you wonder what strength and conditioning work ever happens, he wasn't even sprinting hard at the time.

And he was just beginning to hit again!

Fwiw - Perez hasn’t played in a few days with a minor injury. Charlotte brought up Xavier Fernandez to catch. I don’t think Perez was an option - unfortunate timing for him.

Has there been an update on Yaz? Is he also in Hamstring Hell?

Gracias!

I thought i read somewhere that he was eligible to come back today ... and then that above blurb about maybe not doing a rehab stint (THANK GOD -- so tired of rehab starts ... let these guys play if they're healthy. that's a luxury ... this team is banged up. let them play)

Either way, I wouldn't be shocked to see Yaz activation be parlayed with Jose to the IL. Just my personal guess. He's looked awful gimpy over the past few games.

He sure does look gimpy, but I don't think there is a shot in hell he's going to IL.  Dude wouldn't even take a day off yesterday when he effectively had a peg leg.

Also, hope we see Yaz back soon. Pretty sick of our catcher situation atm, not that Yaz has been any better but woof.
