June 20, 20223 yr This one is at least not that painful. A late rally without giving up a bunch late. Our problems played like our problems. Kopech seemed like he could get some outs and hopefully he can stay healthy enough to pitch without risking long term problems. I don't know if this is a "good loss" or if one even exists. We did lose the series to a potential playoff opponent.
June 20, 20223 yr Would have been a very bad loss if we had been swept. Saturday was a very good win after the debacle on Friday. I might consider it a good loss if it helps convince this organization to move on from mr big energy.

Kyle Tucker hit a shot that would have been a 2 run home run in the cell (405 feet, xBA= .920), and the White Sox’s last 2 runs only existed because of an exploded bat and an extremely weird bounce off the LF wall.

We did lose the series to a potential playoff opponent. We could have won this game if we used our available resources better. We needed to pinch hit for Harrison and /or Hasely in the 9 th trailing by one. Zavala had to pinch hit, he has been hot and can hit the Crawford boxes easier than those two. TLR just doesn’t like to pinch hit and invariably lets our scrubs hit late in close games.

If we're going down this road... Luis Robert and AJ Pollock both had hard flyouts earlier in the game. 397 (.860 xBA) and 388 ft (.720 xBA) respectively. The expected BA on both Houston homers was .210. Yikes.

Definitely a marked improvement over last year's series in Houston, where we got absolutely blown out. Could easily have won this series. We've played a lot better against good teams than we did last year despite the worse overall record. It was the failure to hang in with good teams that folks around here elevated in importance over all other factors last year. I guess by that measure we've improved.
