Amazing how Abreu just keeps sucking it up and playing thru pain.   That guy is built so much different, and probably more to do with heart than physically.  For a team full of grapes, it's

  • Abreu is also 7 or 8 years older than most of the core of this team. And yet, he somehow still plays through pain. I'm not sure if that's just the greatness of Jose or an indictment against the rest o

Zack Hample in Chicago tonight?

Holy crap I just looked up a picture and that was him.  He was quite obnoxious.  I was wondering at the time "why does this guy keep waiving at the crowd".  I guess he's a celebrity in his own mind?

Frank Reynolds's advice here is the weightlifting equivalent of Menechino's hitting advice

this is exactly how i imagine the white sox training staff

I kinda feel this season is a wash. It's past the point of getting healthy and nobody other than Vaughn is really having a better than projected season position player wise. Hahn will stand pat or do some dumb shit i feel at the deadline.

I think Hahn's takeaway from the season so far will be he needs to do even more to Tony proof the bullpen. ?

maybe if they spend 30% of the payroll on relievers things will turn around.

Or Ring and Poreda…back another generation of draft picks.

Or not knowing Carson Fulmer was never going to make it as a starter while overlooking Buehler on the same team.

Sept. 22, 2008

Five-year-old Jake Hahn tells his father that the coin toss for home field in the event a one-game playoff between the White Sox and Minnesota Twins would land on "heads." Father adheres to the sage advice, and Game 163 would be played at U.S. Cellular Field. (Daily Herald, Oct. 5, 2008)

THANK YOU, JAKE HAHN

Only a shitty organization cares so much about a play-in game from 14 years ago that resulted in being dominated in the 1st round of the playoffs

Particularly with Leury playing softball style short CF.

That seemed pretty weird, playing that shallow . I can't remember seeing a guy play like that the whole game, since Andruw Jones.
