  • I sure hope Rick Hahn's seat at the table keeps him warm while at home watching the stars he couldn't sign lead their teams to post season success.

  • And his 2 run HR just put them within 3 outs of the World Series. it's a good thing the Sox didn't need Harper.

The lack of a serious pursuit of him is definitely a defining moment of the rebuild. Just terrible.

Pretty nice half inning here for all of the Padres mid-season additions.

Phillies bullpen finally falters.

Well, one of them probably won't pitch until the 9th.

Who knew you could do such a thing?

Five FBI's.  Highly unlikely either of those guys are back as FA's...Drury has played well but slumping mightily until today.

All their deadline acquisitions were disappointments to some degree.

It's like a thing with Preller trades.

That's part of why he's in San Diego in the first place, it seems.

Machado Grisham Nola the only hitters with over a 734 ops in the postseason...pretty crazy.

Hader was great at the end after figuring things out.  Drury was fine for a $300,000 acquisition.   Bell was Adam Frazier, 2021 version.

(Compare to Leury Garcia.)

But after watching Soto for two months now,  just no way they will end up giving him a massive contract extension as well.  But also no way they make the playoffs without Soto.  Period.

Also, can't imagine this pen with Brash and Munoz that were traded to the Mariners.  Would top 2014-15 KC.

There are so many obvious names on both teams the Sox should have acquired, but Kim & Nick Martinez are guys who would have provided them with badly needed depth and by all accounts they weren't interested at all.

Grisham was sitting quite a bit for them in September. I think there may have been a window to buy low on him this off-season but that's gone now.

Yep they still needed him for CF defense and Myers hasn't done anything all year.

Profar would have been a fine acquisition because he can play everywhere on the field... but especially LF and 2B.

If the Padres announcers are accurate, Hader had never thrown a pitch clocked at 100 before the playoffs this year. He’s now thrown 7, at least 3 tonight.

I don't think even Joe Kelly could have served one up like that.

Maybe some of those guys borrowed that ring worm treatment from Tatis.

ONeil Cruz might beat 120 mph.

At least it's an interesting series now.

3/26 if losing first two at home, 85 Royals, 86 Mets, 96 Yankees vs. Braves the exceptions.

Snell will go down as one of the heroes of the last couple of months. Arguably their best pitcher when Musgrove was fading.

So many big free agent deals + trades on both of these teams worked out well, but oh boy, does Castellanos look terrible.

Segura makes up for his brutal error a few innings back... that's how it seems to be going for the Phillies right now

Remarkable a team can be in the position the Phillies are now playing defense this poorly.

Padres quite fortunate to still be in this one.

Almost had a Gaffe-anino series-turning moment.

It's like Smoltz is trying to make the audience dumber every time he opens his mouth.

hard to believe he's such an anti intellectual after seeing why he left MLB Network.

Gold Glove finalist Juan Soto really showing out in RF.
