2 spring training games with the 2nd one being mostly AA kids and we're really going to act like these games mean something ?

Well, the sportswriters are already pouring on with their "more of the same product" stories...new manager, same breakdowns, etc.

How difficult is it to catch a pop up? Double A, Triple A or on the 40 man roster for the big club we're talking about simple fundamental pop up's here. Why do the Sox seem to have issues with something basically any high school or college player does easily?

The Sox have been brutal for decades, not just the past few years at fundamentals, it has cost them a lot of games. Fans have seen enough of it so they are sensitive to this area of the game.

I use the term "baseball stupid" when talking about the Sox players in general...I mean who else has ever run themselves in an 8-5 triple play before?

Compounding things is we've heard for years the same pap nonsense from the organization on 'how defense is important,' 'we're working on stuff in spring training' et al.

Yet nothing ever seems to change. Pedro has already talked a lot about how it has to improve.

OK...we'll see if it in fact does. So far it looks like more of the same.

A new manager isn’t going to make an organizational difference in a few weeks when the root of the problem is the entire franchise.

Thing is, when you basically just  run it back on the diamond, they’re gonna do that. Unless Pedro is a baseball alchemist…..

What is really different, Clevinger (a wash at best with Cueto), Beni. Then a (non) shift….which every fanbase probably believes will overly favor their own team.

Camp Cora to the rescue!

Ventura improved D for 5 1/2 months and then everything went south.

Abreu vs. Vaughn.  Andrus vs. Harrison.

Just a reminder about Spring Training games, especially in Florida. Most teams limit training games to home teams. So if the Red Sox are playing the Yankees in Tampa, the Red Sox will limit "MLB " players from travelling 3 hours back and forth to play a 3 or 4 inning  game before they start subbing. Instead most of the "MLB" players will work out in their own facilities and play the next day  at home. Only games that are played close by or because a certain player( especially a starter) needs live competition see "MLB" players spending 4-6 hours riding a bus to games.

Red Sox Saturday played mostly minor leaguers Saturday on the road and mostly starters yesterday  at home
