Depends on what a shithole means to be defined. All I know is that Ive been there. I certainly didn’t study the demographics of the nation, but I have eyes, and could see very well the opportunities for rich foreigners to het involved with if they so chose. It’s not hidden. I assume local authorities are in on the game. I do agree they don’t want to f*** it up now that it is international news. Which is why I said I am surprised it got to that point.

It literally happens everywhere. The question to help delineate is a matter of scale. As a result of public and state tolerance. I don’t recommend going there? There are better places to go. It is obviously consistent with many gulf and Caribbean islands and beach destinations in terms of beautiful natural aspects. If you went there though, you would understand.

Teenaged girls kind of need parental supervision to keep them away from older men. Give them slack for school activities but keep track of what they are up to. In this case it seems there are financial angles at play. Maybe they allow multiple wives in DR?

I worked in Mexico for years and traveled central America. It does give a perspective 

Updates:

1. Wander’s court date was changed from today until Friday.
2. Wander continues to be held in jail, for failing to appear for a summons, not for any change in information regarding his case.
3. A mother of one of the alleged victims was detained this afternoon.

 

Prime of your life, at the absolute top of your game, an entire country is amazed at your abilities as a pro athlete, and you throw it all away for a girl who is 14.  This will never make sense 

hopefully in like 3-4 years Bob Nightengale can get Wanders side of the story, odds are whatever wander did doesn’t deserve punishment
