Oof.

To rookie ball?

Oof….

Yency Almonte and Madrigal team up to help Cubs take down Mets...Nick had the throw out of Pete Alonso at home to end the game.

Tim Anderson rides the pine in Miami again.

Omar Narvaez would fit in quite well considering his offensive numbers w/ the Mets...

Yikes.

Nick Madrigal go ahead double in NY.

.195/518

Cubs are leading a charmed life...and doesn't look like MIL has enough pitching to sustain throughout the course of a long season.

Tim Anderson has a 36 wRC+.

Burger is down to .192/.238/.342. TA is at .197/.234/.221. Both were 0-4 in the Marlins loss today.

But Declan Cronin has been excellent, so Miami is 1/3 on former Sox at least.

Elsewhere, Johnny Cueto is working his way back:

Middleton starts a rehab assignment for the Cards next week. Santos had another setback and is now not expected back until July:

good for him, I didn't think he was a major leaguer.

The Duality of Yaz:

I just saw that Marlins brought up a young shortstop. TA still on the team, tho.

Go look at how the cubs scored their eventual winning run yesterday.  At the time it seemed irrelevant but it ended up being the difference in the final score.

Apparently has a sore back. With a 31 wRC+ and -.4 fWAR he's probably a DFA candidate if the kid is any good at all.  ZIPS has really soured on TA's true talent. Thinks he's basically a 1 WAR player at best. He's toast imo.

It's only 21 AB but Kevin Pillar's numbers with the Angels are absolutely fucking stupid.

Just saw the Angels have zero prospects in MLB Pipeline top 100, have a terrible MLB team, and Trout is hurt again. Maybe if the Sox and Angels combined forces they could win 90 games.

It really makes the payment they made for Gio and ReyLo last year all of the more stupid, as if it wasn't already stupid when they did it.

The backup SS in Miami is having a solid year and game.  Has raised his OPS to 760. TA's days are numbered. Burger is down to a 517 OPS. His days also numbered.
