The boys are seeing the ball from Woods Richardson, I think it is safe to say.

So what’s he bringing to the table again?

Gavin made a "wonderboy" bat!

If Gavin is really going to be taking late count outside fastballs into LF we might have a true talent jump.

Twins can bite me.

Is Gavin actually kind of good now? He's going opposite field quite a bit and it's working for him.

How do you pop that pitch up to right field?

I feel like Gavin took whatever hitting talent Vaughn had.

Andrew needs to go somewhere and work on things. It's just a big sucking hole in the lineup. Too many left on base.

Nicky Lopez out-OPSing Andrew Vaughn...

Brother, it might be time to go work on things in Charlotte.

Leaving too many on base

We've seen Gavin produce for a whole month before, so I'll have to see him keep hitting like this for a bit longer before making a judgement. But he's clearly made some adjustments to how teams were attacking him, especially on outside pitches.

That was something. 92mph fastballs, catcher wanted it up, it's right in almost every modern hitters' wheelhouse instead, down the middle at the upper shin and somehow he manages to pop it up?

How do you even get that swing path as a MLB player? That's like a little league swing result.

I'm astonished at how Vaughn manages to hit pitches that should be pulled hard to the opposite field this year. Like that's not a bad thing in certain situations, but he's doing it on almost every one of those pitches. It feels like he's late on the pitches on purpose.

Yup. He has a hitch in his swing now that wasn't there a few years ago. I think he tried to gear up for more power and it's just screwed up everything.

Soroka has lost the plate

Soroka lost his command.

Soroka's slider looks great tonight.

I remember Vaughn went on a pretty big hot streak in 2021 when he steadied his hands more during his load. It sapped some exit velocity, but he was hitting the ball hard more consistently. I don't think Vaughn's problem was that he didn't hit for enough power, it was that his approach never improved. If he improves his approach, the power will come eventually when you start swinging at better pitches. Just another example of poor development by the Sox.

effectively wild, but bordering on just wild.

Pham and DeJong missed homers by less than 5 feet combined.

On a good Sox team I'd probably like De Bong. He swings hard in case he hits it.

Imagine how good the Astros would have been if they didn't have a pitcher hitting at the bottom of their order these past few years.

If Jose Abreu can get sent down today, AV definitely can. The Jared Walsh signing should make that evident too.

I don't think Andrew is as bad as he's shown, but he's hurt at lot.

Tommy Pham your 2024 Chicago White Sox All Star

Santana probably should have caught that, but they've gotta cover 2nd on that.
