Didn't a players' poll call him the most overrated? He's been awesome the entire playoffs. I'd love him on my team.

Dude took that poll personally.

Do you really want to get into debate about successes and failures when it comes to Reinsdorf owned teams? Because based on the angle you're taking, that's an argument you're going to lose.

Additionally, as owner of a professional sports team (two, actually), everything falls under your watch. He's employing the people in making the draft picks, executing the trades, engaging in player development. If it's not working (which is clearly hasn't with both franchises) then changes are needed until they are consistently competitive with the rest of the league. His teams have failed to do that at an alarmingly high rate.

And even using your premise, that Jerry isn't "personally responsible" for day to day roster decisions, the people he hired are. Why should we think at 89 years old, his hiring practices and what he looks for in GM's is suddenly going to change?

The debate's over because I just disproved one of your key points.  But I will add that he had a legit search for a new baseball GM going and called it off because he had the brilliant idea of hiring one of his "boys."  I missed that first time.  We agree on most of what JR is so let's be civil.  But I can't blame him for his hirees' bad decisions.

Oklahoma City clearly is the better team. Small market franchise to win it all. ... Haliburton obviously is hurt; the announcers should lay off. Not every incredibly bad performance can be attributed to choking.

Game Six: All about heart. OKC is clearly the better team; does Indy really want a game seven? That is the question. They should. They should want to win at home and then the inevitable crushing in game seven. Not sure if I'd bet the house on OKC but I'd be tempted. Too good a team compared to Pacers.

I'm gonna get yelled at for this, but what's the difference between Haliburton and 2nd half Giddey?

If 2nd half Giddey is really who he is, I don't see why he can't be as good as Hali.

The Bradley Beal rumors are back and I don't how to feel about it.

The Google machine tells me his defense has improved significantly and that he's been a good off ball scorer.

I think for Vuc, i might try it. Giddey is your main "PG," but he's got the size to "Play SF."

Coby-Beal-Giddey-Matas-Collins

Ball-Ayo-Huerter-Sticks-Rookie off the bench.

Beal's contract is so bad that we better get draft pick compensation back if we trade him for Vuc + PW. He's owed $110 million over the next 2 years. For comparison, Vuc + PW's deals only get you to $93 million over the next 4.

Can’t wait for the conspiracy rumors if we do trade for Beal

Hollinger had Essengue at #7 on his big board.

Abbreviated snippets:

Quote

One of my biggest hot takes for this draft is that Essengue isn't getting nearly enough attention. A Frenchman plying his trade in Germany, Essengue rivals Flagg as the youngest player in the draft with his December 2006 birthdate. Essengue was nonetheless a productive starter for a solid EuroCup team that is playing for the German league championship this week.  ...

Essengue also had 20 points, eight rebounds, three steals and two blocks in a preseason game against the Portland Trail Blazers, while guarding Deni Avdija for much of it ...

Essengue's big swing skill will be shooting; he made 26.5 percent from 3 and 70.2 percent from the line this year; obviously, that won't get it done. On the other hand, can we talk about his work inside the arc? Essengue shot 64.1 percent on 2s with a James Harden-esque free-throw rate (290 free throws against just 269 2-point attempts), an amazing feat for a skinny teen in a physical league. Even going up a level in the game against Portland, he managed to grift six foul shots.

Without knowing much about Essengue himself, I'm always a fan of young guys that get starting minutes in the EuroLeague because they're playing against dudes that were in the NBA or former college standouts.

Loved hearing Jay Bilas compare him to Siakim.

Hopefully he can beef up and develop a 3 point shot, but overall I like him. It'll be interesting to see how him and Matas work together on the floor size wise defensively.... will they need a true big on the floor while Matas and Noa are your 3 and 4? Will Noa have enough length to where he can play the 5 with Matas at the 4? I guess it all depends on matchups.

See how much the Suns really want to dump Beal's contract and ask for Maluach.

In all seriousness, there will be moments this season where the Bulls will probably run Giddey-Coby-Essengue-Matas and Collins or Smith and it'll be fun to watch.

God I hope so.  The Bulls are almost as unwatchable as the Sox.  NBA Hell vs just the 9th ring of hell.

Gonna disagree here. The Sox, for some reason, keep loading up on old guys on their last legs - although this is finally improving. The Bulls are in NBA hell cause their players (outside of Patrick) are try hards.

For me it gives them fun-bad qualities. I can turn on games not automatically assuming a loss.

That being said, please launch AK into the sun so the team can return to the playoffs proper.

This is not true and you know it.  Nothing has changed.  And now, they are rebuilding again.  And we are supposed to trust that, after last rebuild stalled out 5 months in, and then we waited through  3 years of them doing absolutely nothing to improve.  This is the Reinsdorf Box view of NBA hell

Hey look the bulls made their preferred acquisition again

I would like to reiterate that while I like watching Giddey, Coby and Matas, I would like AKME fired into the sun.

They even renewed their old management team.  They are going no where.

I probably should have been clear that it's an improvement over last year when the bar was in hell and the lineup/rotation looked like a nursing home.

Outside of Matas it’s pretty hard for me to see anyone on that roster being in the next good/great bulls team.  They yet again flamed out in the play in, it’s just hard for me to see actual sustained improvement.

Gotta squirrel away that cash, even though I'm worth billions and older than dirt.

I'm talking about the Sox in this instance?
