11 hours ago11 hr I expect them to be bad - hope is this keeps us out of the relegation. If they surprise, great, than you have flexibility with these deals to have capacity to throw in chips at the deadline (or in the off-season). If it takes a bit longer, you pull the options on these deals and you basically do another year of stacking assets and have max cap space and flexibility in 2 years (the only wrinkle is that awful Patrick Williams contract). But this year is basically development and stacking more assets, assess than next off-season if you want to start moving chips in..then great, if not, do it again and they have lots of flexibility in how they do it and get another year. Note: If they are sitting in 7 spot (like in terms of worse teams) or something and Powell is playing good - he should be very flippable for an asset and you can do it knowing you should be out of the relegation zone.

Assuming Powell's play doesn't fall off the cliff, he's the perfect fit at the 2. We've heard it before, but supposedly Williams is looking good in the off-season(whatever that means) too. I'm not counting on it, but there was a 2 year stretch where he shot 40% from 3...If you can get that again he has his place on this team. They have 9 mill left to use on new free agents....theoretically they could use that 9 mill and THEN resign Simons/Sexton IF they wanted..... They also have a few trade exceptions which can be used to go "Over the cap," one of those being nearly 18 mill.
