Sox Quote of the Day...8/25

“We are committed to doing what’s right for us long term. And we’ve got to stay the course. Not cave based on pressures or noise outside of the organization and do what’s right for us so we can be successful in the future.”-- Chris Getz. 🤡

This is the most dysfunctional organization in Professional Sports and no fixes will be addressed until Reinsdorf is no longer the owner, the man is running the franchise like it’s still 1983.

What are you talking about? He just bought Getz a new computer.

"The Sox fell to 31-100, giving them back-to-back seasons of 100 or more losses for the first time in club history. They’re the second-fastest to reach triple-digit losses in the modern era behind the 1916 Philadelphia Athletics, who did it one game sooner at 29-100-1."

No shortcuts for Getz, although his hire was a huge shortcut.

Other than slashing payroll, I don't know what course Getz is on. The long term? This means the losing will continue. Cave? The Sox will do whatever they want to do even if they continue to lose. I have every confidence in that. Success? That is yet to be determined, and it may be years from now, if ever.

Of course he mean the long, long, long term.

I don't think the fanbase is that patient.

They do follow the pattern of small market habitual losing teams.  Sometimes they get those people from those organizations.

Unfortunately, it’s the cold blooded truth.

There is a difference between patience and watching a clownshow trip over its own feet.  Think about it, in the history of baseball, including the era where The Tank is a practiced methodology, no franchise in modern baseball history has been able to intentionally put together a worse team the White Sox did when they were supposedly trying this season.  Sox fans want to see a clear plan and methodology.  They have seen Captain Panic and the worst team in MLB history.

And when they rebuilt the first time, they tried doing it with the same cast that got them in the position they needed to gut the team. All other teams that do that change their front office. So the Sox fail, and then try to do it again with a dope that was there for the failure.

I was weird how successful it was, until it wasn't.  Like they were flying along and flew into a brick wall, and then everything fell apart.  I have seen failed rebuilds, but usually they just never go anywhere.  I can't recall seeing something like this one.

Maybe we can start emailing all these scouts and ask them what the heck is going on?

Usually the Sox email addresses are first initial/last name at whitesox or chisox.com.

The Jacob Gonzalez internal assessment really stands out...but not in a good way.

Like Nick Hostetler and Z.Collins going at 1-1.

Toronto and Detroit are just mediocre but hardly disasters yet...Nationals feel like the new media darlings, Pirates, Reds, etc.

KC's rise from 106 losses and eventually a new stadium seemingly, that's pretty darned close to the opposite of the Sox in one of the smallest markets, with Cags on the way as well to supplement an anticipated Sal Perez falloff.

This is freaking wild.  We had Gonzalez at #3?

Seems that he says, “in his region “.

Ah, that makes more sense, thought it is wild that he managed to get Taylor and Gonzalez in the same year.

Guess that would be South Atlantic/Florida....etc.

So far many have failed to see this.  It's called fans can't have nice things.  It started with Sports Vision.  Trump the execs with the TLR hire,  Next up is the myth of getting better by trading Crochet and Robert.   You can't have nice things.

Unfortunately it is a lot more than just the items you mention.

The habitual losing small market syndrome.

In fairness - this was number 3 within this scouts region - not necessarily number 3 on the big board.

Until Taylor got hurt - the Taylor pick was looking great. Hopefully he bounces back and ends up being a dude.
