Getz’ trades have turned out to be mainly salary dumps as the Sox have not gotten much in return.

Salary dumps are a funny word for the Sox organization. They don't really pay anyone to begin with.  Get rid of those making 25 cents over the minimum wage.

They do pay people, at times, but they pretty much always turn out to be disasters because they never pay for proven top talent.

Will probably give away meaningful talent that eventually evolves into big league regulars and/or send a significant cash subsidy getting rid of Robert and/or Benintendi...or the already-infamous Crochet/Benintendi predicted move.

I thing kopech is a good example of how little trust the white sox had with their players to influence changes on the field. The players are also invested in their careers, and are probably aware of the much better resources that exist outside the org.

Many of their best player development transformations happened by coincidence or thru outside influence.

That said, I was horribly wrong on vargas (I keep violating my own rule of downgrading any player the white sox acquire by the simple logic that the white sox acquiring them means they were worse than I thought). But the logic was there was very little strong position player prospect movement at the deadline. A lot of the 'fleecing' was around pitching prospects, which I'd had enough of. Of course...then there was the non-idiot teams who took the 'lesser' orioles prospect.

that said...i've always hated kopech since 2020. Him deciding to try after 4 years...doesn't make me like him more.

I remember hearing someone tell similar stories about Carlos Rodon too, didn't really try until his non-tender.

I wanted to get into another angry rant but I agree with your conclusion, even if he's been iffy at giving up the long ball since your post. He's a douche and so was Sale, but at some point when every good pitcher gets annoyed at the team and never the fanbase from what I can tell, even if we probably deserve it too. I think a lot of what the criticism about players that annoys me is that they're in the same system that annoys you. We're all like "cosarnit this team sucks" but we don't want everyone else to be the one saying it. It's also the reason why i've avoided watching any sports analysis regarding the bears this week. I mean eventually we have to own up but sometimes it's annoying when it's a dude on the internet instead of the reality.
