  • Not weird.  IMO opinion, the timing and selection of the Ramova venue was a fantastic decision. The renovated theatre/restaurant/ brewery near 35th and Halsted is beautiful.  Support from private inve

Eh, I’m not so sure about that.  I think plenty of Sox fans would actually pay the money to go blast Jerry and Getz.  I wouldn’t, because then I would be funding these clowns more money.  But many Sox

  • What the Sox don't seem to realize is that they are not losing so-called "fair weather fans." They are losing some of their most loyal fans. And if that is truly happening, what do you have left? Deni

Just got back. Good vibes and definitely a less hostile attitude this year. Sold out for tonight at least. Some fun stuff with the younger guys on stage. Good to have Bo there. Getz chatted with Venable and Garfien and that was fine.

That said, man do they need a new venue. I appreciate the desire to do something in the neighborhood, but that space is just very restricting. No seating provided tonight. Which speaking with other parents with kids was real rough. If kids were there it was tough for them to see anything. Older folks had a rough time too.

We showed up early to get seats so my little guy had a decent view and notta. Also zero food options. No dogs and pizza like last year. The bar had one or two things but basically unless you bought the mvp package your options were very limited. Just such a far cry from the family friendly affair it used to be. Either way nice to get a dose of White Sox in the winter.

Nothing that I recall directly, we were mostly socializing with some other people that we knew there. The promo release was cool and as @TheBooneLoganEra mentioned the vibes were pretty good last night as well.

I try not to be negative on this site. Some people on this site thrive on negativity, but  still I  went to Soxfest last night and  I can't help it  because I thought it was terrible. Other than the seminar with Getz and the manager it was a night of comedy skits.   Brooke Fletcher  is very likeable but hosting that first comedy skit was awful. I can't comprehend why they went to this new format. The last Soxfest before Covid was at Mccormick Place  and the event had thousands of fans. I can't believe they were losing money there or at the hotels when Soxfest was there. The place was jam packed last night and having people stand for hours was lousy and I think dangerous. Perhaps ownership just doesn't  want to be bothered with  having Soxfest at a bigger venue.

Yeah I’m not really interested in going back to Soxfest with my kids until it goes back to how it was (I have hope it will post-JR era but that’s ok, my kids are now 19 months and almost 2 months old so we have time).

Plus you had the cancellations for two years, if I remember right with no explanation from the organization (it couldn't have anything to do with the fact they had two incredibly disastrous seasons could it?) 😆
