Stupid to look at the track record of Jimenez Moncada and Robert and what exactly SHOULD they have predicted if they weren't so "grumpy" lol?

Gee, I don't know, Holden. Here's you predicting "strong" years from all three:

Quote

Robert Jr. is one of the best all-around players in the game, and Moncada, Jiménez and Vaughn have the talent for strong years.

Oh, and ...lol.

You realize what Luis Robert did in 2023, right?

Did you miss his performance that season?

Because my comments were prior to 2024.

Nobody at SoxTalk was predicting a complete collapse at that point.

Moncada had over an 800 ops for the Angels within the last week and Vaughn led the Brewers to the NL Central title...other than Jimenez falling off completely last year, but you were the one shining that it wasn't fair to judge Chris Getz when all those guys got hurt, right?????

You didn't use the injury excuse about 1000 times last year?

"Moncada, Jiménez and Vaughn have the talent for strong years."

Gee...really controversial.  Note it was an attempt to be positive without actually putting numbers to it, although Vaughn would put up 18-20 homers and 70-75 rbi's without fail.  Those are good numbers for the worst team in baseball history, lol.  Just not enough for Keith Osik.

Nobody questioned the talent level of those three or the first two guys wouldn't have gotten extensions so quickly.

Vaughn's case is well-documented...almost as well documented as Luke Keaschall being rejected as a trade target due to not wanting to help the Twins win the division (apparently okay to help the Royals, though.)

Thank you, Holden. You are proving my point.

Take the L. It's over.

Getz isn't GM apparently, either.

Because Clevinger being on the roster again is something no fully rational GM would do.

It's either JR TLR or the minority shareholders running the team...or JR is that afraid of tampering charges dating back to the Covid season with Clevinger and Z.Plesac partying in Chicago.

But go ahead, try to spin something about his veteran leadership and how he deserves this shot again after keeping his nose clean at Charlotte all season long.

Apparently they cared more about how Benetti ate a hot dog than the impact on female Sox fans of bringing in Clevinger around all their rookies...heck, the majority of Sox fans outside a few crackpots are disgusted by this move.

This didn't age well.

Apparently not.

If he admits that Austin Slater wasn't actually a "home run" acquisition but instead classic WE hyperbole...sure.

Btw, he's the one researching past posts to try to burn me today for some reason.

This thread is literally why posts get deleted and people get suspended.   It's just a bunch of pointless name calling and mockery, with minimal actual baseball discussion going on.

Too much faith in 2024 , not enough in 2025. Wait till next year !!

I have zero faith in this team, and won’t for probably several more years. Congrats on 49 wins bud, I’m sure it must feel great to flex that one 😂

I don't gamble but really wish I would have bet this. What a stupidly low number it was.

I cheered on the final out and my 9 year old son said, “You’re so dumb. You should have bet a hundred thousand dollars on it.”

Because you expected them to be healthy despite all evidence to the contrary...

No because you expect all players to be healthy until they are not. Robert would have never had a great 2023 if as a GM you say aww he'll never be healthy.

Of course as I had stated and then it was supported by my arch nemesis Sith ,Getz biggest mistake to date was not crashing in on Robert when he had the chance in the offseason following the 2023 season. Instead the Cease trade took precedent. Why trading Robert wasnt a priority also I'll never understand. Everything else hes done is peanuts comparably. Imagine a return comparable to the Crochet return and how much better the rebuild would be doing.  See Im not all sunshine I can cricize Getz . That was a huge blunder. I just choose not to sweat the little things . JR hired Getz and gave him no money to play with likely because Getz couldnt do much damage without much money. He got his feet wet that 1st year then JR gave him even less to work with when he did his house leaning started uograding the coaching and R & D staffs. Certainly not the same Sox M. O.  With Colson's very non linear path that included Top priority 1 on 1 instruction in Az and then the R & D with the torpedo bat. Huge development win for the time being . You can say  huge scouting wins with Shane Smith, Vasil or Houser ,Perez and Gomez.

I understand your pain but you know you still care because you're here. And you should care too that after reaching rock bottom things are progressing to a better future. It'll take some time and a new owner and yea probably a new GM if Getz is still here when the Ishbias actually dont pull out this time.

But the reality of the current ownership situation means there wont be rapid progress and Getz is just here to tread water and try not to screw up anything major. Incremental steps forward is just more realistic and thats whats happening. I didnt make any money on the team reaching 50 wins but Im happy for the people who did just as I fine with people who won money betting against the Sox last year which includes Ptatc who routinely also thinks things have changed for the better in the organization. So it is possible to know how bad it was and to a point still is and still be able to look forward and see good things happening.

I know that kind of middle ground stance isnt quite angry enough for some but I'll manage somehow.

Congrats on your over bet winnings everyone.

Unfortunately i went for a bit more

I had $25 on Meidroth and Baldwin on RoY too, shoulda went with Colson tho.

Still would've lost betting on Colson. No one is beating Nick Kurtz. Hes a lock at this point of the season.

It's OK, i'll settle for a few Colson MVP's and all star appearances going forward :)

Its better that he didnt win it. There are rules now that some prospects who are highly ranked gain a year towards free agency and some other things for winning ROY. Not sure that would've happened to Colson or not if he won. I dont know which rankings count towards that and Colson at one point dropped out of the top 100 in at least one ranking service after last season. Lots of new stuff from the last CBA I havent memorized or bothered to look up.

I don't see a lot of name calling going on.

As for mockery Soxtalk is full of mockery. You do it , I do it , people use memes to do it. If that is the reason for deleting posts and suspensions then you should have deleted your own posts 100s of time. You speak as if you are innocent of it.

Now I know name calling possibly gets you suspended but where do you draw the line ? Do you have a list of names that is unacceptable? Once you go down that rabbit hole its hard to get out of it.

"Let he who is without sin, cast the 1st stone" was used in the Bible by Jesus to save a woman convicted of adultery who was about to be stoned. The people holding the stones walked away realizing their own hypocrisy. I cannot cast stones  because I have no authority here and cannot punish people. You do. Walk away.
