February 14, 20251 yr Which position player non-roster invitees do you think will make the opening day roster? Below is a link to the full list, along with my own list of the somewhat “notable” players. I’m going with Narváez, Drury, and Gallo. https://www.mlb.com/whitesox/roster/nri Omar Narváez Bobby Dalbec Brandon Drury Joey Gallo Corey Julks Nick Maton Edited February 14, 20251 yr by WhiteSox2023

I’m not saying it’s the right decision or the decision I would make, but I think it’s what the Sox will do. I actually want to revise my picks — I think Thaiss vs Narvaez is a toss-up but I do think both Gallo and Drury will make the roster. Edited February 14, 20251 yr by WhiteSox2023

But I think Gallo also has a legit shot as a lefty 1B/DH and corner outfielder if he hits a few dingers during ST. The Sox have wanted him for awhile, he’s still only 31, they lack power, and the Sox don’t seem to ever know when a player is beyond his years of usefulness. Giving Andrew some competition would be nice.
February 14, 20251 yr As long as it’s not at the expense of anyone interesting, I selfishly want Gallo to make the team so I can see him bat .105 with 25 HR and 27 RBI.
February 14, 20251 yr Oddly this listing seems better than what they used to do when the contention was "open".

Getz is doing the minor league depth thing that always eluded Hahn, but has struggled to field a major league team. You know, if you combined Hahn and Getz, you might just have yourself a slightly below average GM.

Thaiss is a guaranteed contract and all but a lock to be there come March.
February 14, 20251 yr "In the White Sox’s case, they don’t have an heir apparent for Vaughn, but they do have Miguel Vargas and Bryan Ramos trying to get plate appearances at the same position, Lenyn Sosa coming off a .374/.398/.566 performance in September before heading to Venezuela for winter ball, and a Tim Elko who hasn’t yet removed himself from the running in Charlotte. Individually, none of those options are terribly exciting, but there’s also the possibility that they add help from the outside, be it in a trade or free agency." https://soxmachine.com/2024/10/andrew-vaughn-at-center-of-white-soxs-non-tender-debate/ Edited February 14, 20251 yr by caulfield12

Still going with Gallo and Drury.
