Orioles brought back Kyle Gibson for between $5.25 and could be almost $7 million based up in incentives.

Let the handwringing begin.

If we catch them even for a day I will be so insufferable.

I think it was a joke, but at best it was creepy.

You literally just commented.   This entire post is a fully political post dressed up in a bit of aw shucks bullshit.

Boy, there's a trade that has turned to complete garbage for the Marlins.

The guy they traded away I feel like isn't even that great though. Before and after the trade.

I'm clowning on the meme. But yeah, Baltimore probably could have built a reasonable package around Norby for Fedde.

Not like those guys have exactly LIT the world on fire, have they?

Reminiscent of KW/Hahn picks like Royce Ring, Zach Burdi and Aaron Poreda, to name a few.  Drafting for major league (immediate) needs.

The six home runs were an Orioles Opening Day record
Baltimore's offensive attack was powered by Adley Rutschman and Cedric Mullins, who hit two home runs apiece. Tyler O'Neill and Jordan Westburg also went deep.3 hours ago

Mlb season is off to a wonderful start. Had some cool opening day moments, my favorite being Kam Misner’s (TBR) first MLB at bat being a walk off homer. What a cool moment.

followed up by judge hitting 3 homers in a 9 homer game. Wind conditions weren’t even bad, I checked the Bronx weather station compared to the Bridgeport one, and it wasn’t even windy in New York. Hate to see Bearded Bleach Blonde B(Nestor) give up 5 homers and 5 walks in 2 innings, but what a hitting clinic.

good season ahead, friends. Even optimistic about the Sox. The pitching is already excellent.

Feels related to the 9 HR showing?

Looking at the stat lines...the best result of today might be making some veteran players more valuable in trade talks down the line.

Vargas doing his walk thing.

Poor Devers...well, not the whole generational wealth thing.

Padres were lucky they didn't sign him.

Sucks for Braves ofc.

Going to put a bit of a shadow over Tatis again...with one of his key teammates clearly do ping with the massive power increase.

Hopefully he learned his lesson the hard way.

Maybe Sox can deal one of their many outfielders lol.

Benintendi?

Puts more pressure on Kelenic and Acuna Jr. as well as Ozuna.

The Braves announced that right-hander Reynaldo López was placed on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to March 29, due to right shoulder inflammation. Fellow righty Bryce Elder has been recalled as the corresponding move. Per Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Elder will take Wednesday’s start in place of López.

There hasn’t yet been any word from the team on exactly how serious they expect this to be, but it’s concerning on a few fronts. First of all, López also spent time on the IL last year due to inflammation in his throwing shoulder. Atlanta signed López ahead of 2024 and moved him back to the rotation after many years working in relief. On a rate basis, the results couldn’t have gone much better, as he had a 1.99 earned run average on the year.

But he went on the IL a couple of times, once due to a forearm issue and then a second time due to shoulder inflammation. His tally of 135 2/3 innings was his largest in years but still shy of a full starter’s workload. Now after just one start in the 2025 season, he’s back on the IL with more shoulder trouble.

Braves are in big trouble on yet another front as well...

WestEddy won't like this...9 year extension to Jackson Merrill

The extension, which will guarantee Merrill $135 million, according to a source, will begin next season and run through the 2034 campaign. The deal also includes a club option for 2035. Merrill and the Padres will discuss the deal in a 9:30 a.m. PT press conference that can be streamed live on MLB.com.

Back to seven $100+ million deals

Tatis Machado Bogaerts Merrill Cronenworth Darvish Musgrove (out for year with TJ)

"But but but, I was told the Padres exec's didn't know how to run a team by the know-it-all's at gaslampball.com? But for real, yes this will likely be one of the best contracts in the history of MLB assuming he progresses like we think he will. $20 million a year (if he reaches max potential) for a player in his absolute prime bringing in likely $40 - $50 million + worth of value a year. Top brass masterclass."

Reds really should have traded for Robert Jr

This Sacramento field plays way too small.
