On the Sox website under injury updates they listed him as having thrown four pitches in his rehab start then leaving with an "injury." (Direct quote).

That's all the notation said.

Doesn't seem like anyone is reporting what happened. Maybe one of the FutureSox guys can provide an update.

In a way, I would rather have these guys have this surgery now before they are any good then when we are counting on them. Hopefully, they come back better than before, like the $6 million man.

  • Did not see it mentioned anywhere here, but according to Sox transactions page, they did bring Juan Carela back in a minors deal. Which is good news.

This is why @southsider2k5 and others always say you need basically 2 or 3 times the prospects that you think you need.  Many will need surgery and many will bust.  Brutal. That Santos trade went

I think it was yesterday’s minor league notes at SoxMachine they said he is currently being “evaluated” and that’s all that’s being said as of yet.
