Tauch in, Jank out

He will at least provide some good at bats with a little pop. Better than ole Travis.

Hooray?

DFAd by the White Sox is baseball slang for its time to find another line of work.

Why was he starting so much?!?!?

Right-handed pitchers. I believe that Venable had moved on to Baldwin as the strong end of that platoon by yesterday.

Matchups only matter if the batter isn’t an absolutely horrendous hitter against pitchers that throw with either arm.

Nice throw Robert good god.

Wrong thread. Point still stands.

I don’t think he was signed with any intention. He wouldn’t have even made the team if Tauchman started the year. He was an incredibly late ST pick up. The issue was him playing so much.

He Getz Us.

The weird part is that Slater has neutral, or even reverse platoon splits over the last year. Maybe Venable just wanted to give Jankowski a full run. It's not quite like Roman Anthony was sitting so Jankowski could play.

Jankowski has received full runs elsewhere.  He’s 33 years old.  The back of his baseball card wasn’t suddenly going to change…

Yeah, that's a backup outfielder. If he OPSed 1.000, he'd be starting somewhere.

And unsurprisingly, not one other team wanted him.  Good enough to start for the White Sox one week, without a job the very next week.

“White Sox sent OF Travis Jankowski outright to Triple-A Charlotte.

Jankowski has elected free agency to search for a new opportunity after passing through waivers unclaimed. The 33-year-old outfielder was jettisoned from Chicago’s 40-man roster last weekend when Mike Tauchman returned from the injured list.”

He’ll prob reject that right? Or he’s on his way back with 10D hitting IL.

Yeah, it says he chose free agency.  He probably knows he has no shot again with the Sox with Tauchman back and the Drury re-signing.

Only shot would be they sign him to an MLB deal right now and add Benintendi to IL

Jankowski traded to the Rays?

LOL, Jerry is pleased — more cash considerations!!!  Getz will get a lifetime extension at this rate.  This should be a meme at this point.

EDIT:  Looks like Jay Cuda beat me to it by a year…

Circa 2045 - "Grandpa, would you talk to my class about being a baseball player on career day?"

"I'd love to. I have a lot of stories about the 2025 White Sox!"

/Looks up 2025 White Sox

"Could you tell them you were a piano player in a whore house?"

Sox trade Jank to the Rays and he goes 2/4 with a double in his Rays debut.

Rays seem like the perfect team for him; surprised he hasn't played there before.

Or the SF Giants...
