April 6, 20251 yr Veteran hitters in W-S look really good. Gelanie 2 more doubles today. Makarewicz HR, and a double. Appel looks good. Antonacci is just a killer: bb, SF, single, 2 runs scored, rbi. Great at bat every time up. I think I understand why the Kanny guys had trouble jumping up.. older guys deserve at bats up there. Gonna be interesting who makes it to AA this year.

He's a baseball rat ball player type but he's not very athletic and not being able to play SS is really going to hurt his profile. A utility type really has to be able to play SS. Maybe he'll scratch out a niche but it's not gonna be easy for him.

It's going to be interesting to see how much patience they have with Amaya and Baldwin. Meidroth doesn't seem to be one of those players who you play the service time game with...but now that we're already one week plus into the season, and incentive to bring him up to the big leagues before the first week of May is even less. Baldwin was NEVER going to be a plus shortstop defensively, but moving him all over the diamond is worsening his overall defense...at least for the time being. It also takes away from the chemistry in terms of turning double plays when you're constantly shifting players at both 2B and SS on a daily basis.
