Something has to be done. Elko desrves a chance. Hope its sooner rather than later. Could still option AV. Would be an un White Sox thing to do but maybe a few weeks hitting against inferior pitching would help the guy out.

Schiffren probably is oblivious to it even happening since he doesn't care much for baseball history. Fathom, for example brought up Lakers/TWolves and I appreciated the opportunity to watch Anthony Edwards' dominate. And that was a totally different sport...but somehow the world kept spinning, or is it rotating, on its axis?

GreenSox
I'm looking over his stats, and I wonder what compelled the Cubs (and then the Sox) to Rule 5 this guy. He struggled in the minors until 2024, where he had a sold year in AA, showing 20ish HR power but >25% Ks. That's good, but there must be something beneath the numbers. Perhaps he's a great defender? Anyway, he's likely going to play the all-glove/"don't expect you to hit" role that Amaya currently holds; so seems like a good time to cut Amaya. If you're referring to Workman, he's 70 grade defense at 3B, and a very good defender at SS.

Thanks - that's what I was looking for. Seems like Amaya is superfluous now.

greg775
Could an opener start two or three games in a row in a playoff series? If he works just one inning? I wonder if we'll ever get to that point.

Mostly joking here… Edited April 28 by Bob Sacamano

Lot more lefty/righty matchup b.s.

The Royals are last in home runs but .500ish due to pitching and Witt Jr. Is that more interesting? Maybe not...based on KC attendance numbers compared to let's say the Tony Pena-led "Nosotros Creemos" teams of Beltran Dye Sweeney that put up runs in buckets.
