The thought has crossed my mind that he's just trolling us and that this is all an act. Almost certainly not, but that would be some genius-level trolling if it were an act.

Your desire for Ishbia to move the stadium near a train station more accessible to "casual fans" like yourself is all about you, isn't it? How selfish.Private financing? Oh, like the federally backed financing for moving an enormous railroad boneyard to the South side or the 134 Million he duked to Amtrak...which he gets back later? Ishbia doesn't spend personal money. Instead he manipulates debt to make money. That is what private equity investors do. There is no advantage to taxpayers if he abandons a stadium and acres of parking owned by the public. Ishbia's greed and avarice has now taken a back seat to his arrogance. You seem unable to understand what motivates the Ishbia clan - greed and avarice and a large helping of billionaire megalomania. Do your own research on them.Donald Vilimas, a 6th grader at Bridgeport Catholic Academy is not a causal fan like those you envision taking a train from afar to go to an occasional game. That youngster goes to numerous games every season. He really captured a lot of what it means to be a South side White Sox fan, even in the dark shadow of two play-off losses when he stated that :"“This just matters a lot to me—the White Sox are my team.”https://www.nbcchicago.com/chicago-sports-bears-sox-cubs-bulls-blackhawks/bridgeport-students-gifted-tickets-to-see-white-sox-in-game-3-of-alds/3999272/This kid is special and I hope the White Sox honor him and his classmates, especially if the Sox overcome all odds and play for the AL championship.I have your posts on ignore because of your utter failure to engage in a discussion in a rational manner even once. I also didn't join Soxtalk to race to the bottom and make petty personal insults to people who disagree with me on any topic. But, I have to make an exception here to stand up for myself. You're a fucking lying idiot who does nothing but launch personal attacks that aren't based on reality. I'm not even going to waste my time responding point by point to your nonsense because what you spout about other people is just total bullshit. A few months ago, you went after me for saying that I took my kids to the Fundamental area. That shows everyone how much of a fucking lowlife you are. Going after my family life because you don't like my opinion about stadiums? Really? FUCKING IMBECILE.You think you're more of a Sox fan than others because of some idiotic idea that your more "South Side" than others? What a sad, warped world view you have. Stop waving your dick about your South Side street cred, nobody give a s%*#....seriously there are zero posters who are impressed by this. In fact, it just make you look pathetic to others reading this thread.Look around. Nobody...and I mean NOBODY here likes your tired schtick. And yet, you continue to come here to take a steaming dump on this thread over and over again because stadium news hurts your feelings and makes you want to lash out at everyone. Fucking crybaby.I'm sure your response to this is just to put a laugh emoji. Sorry to break it to you, but that is not a "sick burn", it just shows how much of a fucking idiotic coward you are. I take great joy in seeing how other posters take you down in epic fashion over and over again.Other posters should (and have) voiced their opinion that they'd rather the Sox stay at Rate Field, or at least at 35th St. That's a legitimate difference of opinion that fans can have. There are pros and cons to each of the stadium options the Sox could take after 2029. Each site has benefits and drawbacks. But you're not interested in any of that. In fact, for other people who want the Sox to stay at 35th St over the South Loop, you're just an embarrassment to their side of the issue who drowns out legitimate concerns about the South Loop option with comically unhinged tantrums.Okay, everyone - carry on. Go Sox and hopefully we can raise some pennant flags before this team moves to Railyards Field in 7 or 8 years. Edited Saturday at 05:13 PM2 days by 77 Hitmen

If Justin could have got the 78 and continue to develop the rail yard it would have been the best of both worlds. It would've been great. Build a bridge to cross over to parking or what not. Not unheard of either.

That's why Trump needs to deploy troops in Chicago. That's clearly the only way to stop the thousands of murders a day happening and being covered up by the corrupt Democracts in charge.

It's the fucking best. The mixture of nightlife/entertain options, food, public transportation, architecture, great neighborhoods, etc. it's tough to compete with New York, but Chicago is wayyy more affordable. Chicago is the best. Being on a big freshwater lake and having basically no natural disasters puts it in a good place going forward. I think this is a place you'll see a lot of people moving to in the future. Now, if we can figure out the pension situation without jacking up taxes even more... That's the big problem.
23 hours ago23 hr This is how White Sox market was perceived at mid 2018 by Bleacher Reporthas anything changed?10. Chicago White SoxThough Chicago is a huge market, the White Sox are dominated therein.Even since the 2005 World Series title the Sox brought home, Chicago remains a Cubs town, and the Cubs will always gobble up most of the tourist money, merchandise money, ad revenue and prime media real estate in the city. That's one element of the problem here. Another is that U.S. Cellular Field is a bit of a dump, by modern ballpark standards. It has relatively little character. It sits in a poor South Side neighborhood, where the expected economic impact has never developed. The revenue exclusivity of the area helps in a way, but the removal from downtown Chicago is a disadvantage, too. The Sox are no poor cousin, but they're functionally a mid-market team, albeit the richest one imaginable. Edited 23 hours ago23 hr by caulfield12
20 hours ago20 hr No, I don't use public transit for numerous reasons. Neither do over 80% of fans who routinely attend White Sox games. The percentage of fans that use rail is even less. However, public transit is not one of the main issues, and neither is "ingress and egress." Yes, that was in fact an issue for the 78 until Mansueto got the City to approve $400 Million in TIF for improvements including a parking garage so automobiles could enter at grade from Roosevelt. Oh, that. I delineated the main issues with Ishbia's plan to relocate a railroad boneyard with dormant trains and a train warehouse to Rate Field (instead of an alternative location) and the AI slop renderings of the "The Railyard". Oh well, this being a sports internet forum, it is just so easy to post silly personal attacks rather than making a coherent and informed analysis. Mayor Brandon and Gov. Pritzker are all behind Ishbia, maybe Trump as well. I tell you there is no stopping Superman - faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive. Reminds me of when Kid Rock endorsed a certain political candidate saying : "Let a businessman run it." Blind trust and faith in a billionaire. That always works out, right?

That always works out, right?80% of people don't take public transportation to Sox games? That stat alone proves you're not actually doing homework. Quite a few people take public transportation to Sox games and have for a long time. In fact, that's why the Metra put a stop on the Rock Island at 35th street - because true Southside fans (not the fugazis who think Bridgeport is the further south you can go in Chicago) were complaining about having to take a bus or two to the 95th stop to catch the red line and then do the reverse. But you already knew that....Funny how you call out Mansueto using TIFF funds when your rhetoric the past few pages have been "How dare Ishbia use his own money, and perform due diligence." You're right, he could care less about your property values or your parking lots. And I'm happy for it. Finally an adult owning our favorite baseball team. BTW since you care so much about the people of Bridgeport and what they'll miss, you should be able to answer this - why do they need parking lots when they can walk to the stadium and pregame at their houses?
