Savanah Bananas tonight at Sox Park

Bananas are one of the better things going for baseball, pro or otherwise. I don't agree at all with the "get off my lawn" types. The Harlem Globetrotters never claimed to be the 91-92 Bulls but they sure as hell helped spread basketball.

The fact that it was nearly impossible to get tickets tells you that a lot of people agree.  They are a blast to watch, and I hope to one of these days get to see them in person.

Bro, I couldn't even get picked to get into the lottery!

It is entertainment....that is what White Sox games are supposed to be.

Going tonight....should be a blast. I hope they incorporate NaNaNaNa....it is nothing like hearing that song in a packed stadium.

Concessions better bring their A game on the Cuban Comet sandwiches. My son and I have been talking them up so we will see what my better half thinks.

So I watched some baseball like this on the old CHSN OTA channel 62.2 which is now Stadium instead, which Jerry owns a part of.  But it was two other teams playing, not the Savanah Bananas.  Does anyone happen to know what “league” I was watching?  It seemed like they were doing similar gimmicks as the Bananas, just not to the same extent.

There are actually a group of teams in their "league" that the rotate through playing.

I think there are at least three other rotating teams that play the Bananas and each other...

See JR the White Sox could draw three million to that stadium...unfortunately, not with one of your own teams.

It's crazy that a gimmick baseball team is going to draw in two days what the Sox draw in a decent homestand.

Yes. The Bananas play the Firefighters tonight. The other teams are the Party Animals and the Tailgators.

I had some friends buy tickets to both games. They made 5x their money.

I had people come in from North Carolina for the game....probably a dick move if I sold them now, huh??

Further proof why Jerry and his hand-picked regime need to be gone forever.  He should realize it himself.  There’s a reason Kenny and Hahn aren’t in baseball anymore.

I had everyone in my family enter the lottery.  Only my wife got picked to "have a chance to buy tickets."  She logged on when she was supposed to and went from queue to queue for an hour before being told it was sold out.  I got an email the other day saying there were some last minute tickets available and to "CLICK HERE!" to have a chance.  Clicked about a dozen times and got the same message saying to try again later.

I did see the tickets were $40, which is pretty reasonable.  If they keep doing this and keep the tickets fairly priced, this Bananas thing will last a long time.

He won't sell the team because he doesnt want it to be turned into a money grab. Mentioned he'd rather create a billion fans at a good price than maximize profits because once you build the following, you'll already have more than you'd ever need.

If I got tickets to this for $40 bucks a pop, as cool as it is, I’m selling them for 10 times as much if I can and watching it on an ESPN2 stream.  🤣

In 2016 I bought four tickets to see Messi and Argentina at the Copa. Bought them off craiglist $80 each. Day of game one friend cancelled and other two said if I could double our money they'd not go. Ending up selling them for $160 each. Not bad. Need more arbitrage opportunities like that.
