...And that loss drops the Rays back under .500.

Since when did Burke start throwing 100? That AAA stint did him some good.

Comeback wins are very fun, but I wouldn't turn down a nice little wire to wire victory tomorrow

Improving their 1 run record. 3-1 in the last 4 1 run games.

Its always talked about how being better in close games is akin to learning how to win together. Of course it can't be quantified but its one of those baseballisms we always hear along with it builds character.

When’s the last time you’ve seen a team enter the 9th up by one run, use three different pitchers in the inning, and walk away with a victory without giving up a run?

Back before they changed the rules that pitchers have to pitch to 3 batters to speed up the game. The only reason we saw it tonight was Taylor only faced 1 guy because of injury.

Maybe velocity wise but he wasn't sharp at all tonight.

Not near enough for someone with his talent.
It's worth the risk to get him right.  Although just the fact that the Sox brass took him out of the rotation gives me pause.

Other than Crochet (who was really a Hahn guy draft for the pen), the pitching draftees have stumbled.

Yeah, that’s why it’s so unique. I wonder if it has ever happened since the rule change.

Kopech trying to screw the White Sox by walking every Rockie he faces.

Burke started? Vargas played? Ok I want to watch this game but it's 2:00am and time to go to bed. I think I might have just missed a good one. Curious about the bullpen management, looks like the entire staff pitched tonight.

That means two guys who will never make it.

The Sox were done scoring by the 3rd inning. It was just a matter of could the BP hold onto the lead.

Lots of big clutch hits in the Sox 5 run second inning.

Burke walked the bases loaded w/ no outs in the 2nd. But pitched out of it with no runs with a K and a nice DP turned  by Colson. The Sox followed that up with the 5 run inning.

Beni solo HR in the 3rd ended the scoring. He's been hot .

Sox HR Leaders.

Sosa 20

Benintendi 19

Montgomery 18

What a bunt, Chase!! Love these recaps, four different broadcasts dependent on the situation. MLB actually puts good work into it even for a random game nobody cares about like D Rays/Sox late in the season.

Not loving the walks and hanging breaking balls smashed for home runs. But Burke has some some phenomenal stuff. He still has a chance to be really good. Don't think the same could be said about Cannon.
