2025 Wild Card Round

I think you have to push Cease harder because you're destroying the bullpen even if you do win...

None of the guys starting tmrw would be able to go through more than 3-4 innings in all probability.

Eventually a lesser reliever like Morgan or Peralta will have to go unless you trust 100+ rookie B.Rodriguez who has very little big league experience but nasty stuff.

Good lord that’s a bad analysis

Cubs have their own Bagdad Bobs/Schiffrens in the media apparently.

What new?

Likely that one of their relievers is gonna struggle, and if the Padres can't tack on more runs they're gonna lose

Soroka warming up lol?

Saw a WGN reporter saying how it's so hard to dislike PCA because he's so mature and humble.

Must be watching a totally different player.

When he's good you can put up with him. When he's all defense no bat like he is right now...

Tatis likely to be running...desperately need another run.

He's Luis Robert lol...

And there's some runs!

Manny!  That was bad managing by Counsell

That's fine if Machado can actually get a clutch hit.

.216/.262/.372 in the second half

This not related to this situation as Shota has been getting kilt, but the past 7-8 years of playoff baseball has been a battle of what manager can ignore common sense the least.

It has become the manager show.

Not signing Manny has finally paid off

Finally!!!

Machado was overdue.

The problem is you went to the bullpen so so so early.

B.Rodriguez is very similar to Henriquez of the Dodgers...will get baptism by fire in postseason but walks/control always an issue with young pitchers.

Guys like Morejon and M.Miller have rarely pitcher three consecutive games...

At least the Dodgers are seemingly going to try something different with Scott/Treinen struggling mightily.

Hinch got burned today too with Melton et al.

Pulled Mize way too early when CLE wasn't hitting at all.

Morejon at least has a long record in the minors as a starter so can go longer than most lefties.

R.Suarez has 6 blown saves and I trust him not at all in these situations lol.

No way paying him $20-25 million in FA.

I could give Counsell s%*# for not taking out Imanaga for a righty to face Machado, but you have to expect that one of your best pitchers can get one out against a guy who is dangerous but hadn't done anything in this series up until that point.

Fathom was questioning the superpen approach...we'll see if that de Vries trade was worth it today/tmrw.

And Adam was their big 7th/8th inning off speed guy and he's a key key loss in that bullpen.

Really liked him. Came over from Rays.

Machado kind of like the Judge of the NL.

HoFer but Tatis is the one with the big postseason rep.

You definitely don't face Machado with Mike Soroka lol...

Colson Montgomery got Thielbar for an early spring training homer.

Low FB.

That was the first breath of hope.

Old school managers just don't trust rookies in these situations in the postseason.
