No one that the Sox are probably interested in — Bellinger, Bader, Hays.  Hays would probably be reasonable moneywise.  But if the Sox are targeting Kepler, I’d rather not sign anyone and wait for Montgomery to be ready.  Luckily, this is probably a bogus rumor from a nobody.

It looks like Getz would like to not start May in a 7-23 hole, again. In which case, I would imagine Kepler/Hays/Tauchman would work as a RF placeholder until B. Monty plays his way onto the parent club.

Santos, Houser and Robert trades are all fine imo. Fedde/Kopech wasn't great, Cease was bad.

  • The National Equirer is more accurate than that guy.

You are a White Sox fan, so it is probably more like a -1 WAR 37 year old 2B who will play 1B poorly.

In that case, I don’t have a ton of hope that Bleday will hit but he probably makes the most sense because he could move to CF once Robert is traded and Montgomery is ready to take over RF.

Nothing to this, just posting for the spectacle of random trade ... I won't even call them rumors. Brain worms.

Michael Harris is the only guy from the Braves that would make any sense at all in this type of trade.

Yeah... that seams highly unlikely. Sox want pitching for Robert, yet are going to trade away pitching? No chance.

I normally get mad at spelling errors but seams is acceptable on a baseball forum

I normally get mad at grammar errors when people don’t use a period at the end of a sentence.  🤣😉

It's cold AF here and dark. A warm summer evening with some brews and baseball sounds nice.

Yeah would have to be a hell of an overpay honestly.

A Robert + Leasure to the Mets trade could be interesting, but not for Luisangel Acuna.

Not surprising at all. His profile didn't look all that great for success in the MLB.

He looked like a dubious #5. I thought he could get something like 1/3 as somebody's rotation depth.

That low strikeout rate was scary, and the fact that it has declined over the years.

I think if the sox signed this guy, it would show you what they think of the Martin, Burke, Cannon group.

I think Burke should move to the bullpen, but that’s just me. I think his stuff would play up. Cannon, he might not be a MLB caliber pitcher unfortunately.

I pray we don't have to suffer much Cannon this year. He had some moments but he has zero control and command most starts. Few guys throw more meatballs.

Burke I agree stuff might play better out of pen but we need him to start as of now imo.

Interesting argument for German Marquez.

Garfien had a good talk with Phil Nevin about why he came to the Sox and what he does.

Ian and James always put out a podcast worth a listen. The most interesting is the convo about Baseball America's raving about where the Sox are going with Development (BA thinks the Sox could have a top ten system after the draft), and James talks a bit about what he hears the Sox want to add soon. Give a listen.

@Mariners. May we interest you in Lenyn Sosa for a package built around your comp pick? Or Pirates honestly. Keep the good vibes going.

Edit: or deal one of each (Robert, Sosa) to Reds, Pirates, or Mariners.

Mariners have top prospects around the infield and just locked up Naylor, not sure what Sosa does for them. And with Julio in CF, Robert’s value to the M’s is diminished, unless he finds his All Star form at the plate.
