There's no penalty for trying to get hit unless the pitch was a strike.

He tried to get hit in the previous pitch, the next pitch he got hit and that’s when the benches cleared. The replay they showed after benches cleared showed that he threw his hand out at the high and inside pitch and it misses him, then the next pitch hits his hand and he didn’t need to put his hand out
chw42
Anyone a think it's sus they didn't even show a replay of the Clement check swing on the broadcast? I thought he went in real time.

Maybe the nobody middle reliever should have better control. Giménez didn’t do anything wrong. It also didn’t matter did it. I’d stick my arm out too if I’m a defense first, poor bad middle infielder. Why do you guys care
wegner
i thought it would have been interesting if Ohtani got the pitching loss in game 7. Rojas saved him from that.
chw42
That's a lot like Rajai Davis' homer off Chapman in 2016. Completely out of left field.

It is what happened, people pointed it out and you clearly weren’t paying attention to the slow mo replay that pointed it out during the game. Why do you care to tell everyone that you weren’t paying attention? Ffs the point people were making was “Why was Gimenez pissed off at the reliever for hitting him, WHEN HE TRIED TO GET HIMSELF HIT IN THE PREVIOUS PITCH”. Do you get it now?
