It's weird how people who regularly castigate the Sox for their record-setting 2024 losses can't understand why bad teams add veterans at the edges to avoid catastrophe.

At that time, three active players were connected to the overthrow attempt: Jack Flaherty, Lucas Giolito and Ian Happ. Those three were on the MLBPA eight-player executive subcommittee but none of those three remain after recent voting, per Evan Drellich of The Athletic.
