Top 100 MiLB lists. Can’t seem to find the exact publication to link for everyone but I know it wasn’t Baseball America or the official MLB list. Pretty sure it was something like “horseshit hi8is pulled out of his arse.”

I could be wrong… but I’m almost positive that was it.

Odd mental picture that. But this source is likely as good as any. Accepted.

  • Put me on record — this is stupid. Offense-starved team refuses to give a shake to a young cost-controlled player who can hit a little bit. Maybe the skeletons will suddenly fall out of the closet to

  • This seems like an absurdly stupid trade that I can't see the vision on from any angle.

  • It's refusing to eat the contract.

Still better than Bruce Levine

Doesn't look like much of a prospect, but maybe he is or will be. Still better than trading for an org guy. Would have preferred a pitching prospect. Return seems light, but that's just the way it is.
When it is ptbl or cash considerations, I'm guessing it won't be much of a player.

This is definitely better than the usual post hype flop. GIve me a young guy with some upside tools every time.

Peggy Kusinski's kid is better than Bruce Levine.

The days of getting real prospects for veterans are over. Not that we ever really do.

If the Sox actually believed that was true vis a vis Vargas they wouldn’t have basically sidelined Sosa.

So what does that say about Sox management?

From Statcast:

In fewer PA, Sosa has more hits (many more in fact), HR, RBI; better BA (.40 pts higher), and SLG (.30 pts higher); and slightly better OPS.  Vargas has a better OBP (.24 pts higher) because he walks significantly more.

At 3B, Sosa has a better Fld% (.964 to .950), which is slightly above league avg. Though both players are below league average in the following, Sosa has better Range, Fielding Run Value, and Outs Above Average.  Vargas's error rate is 1.43 times (43.4%) higher than Sosa's.  Vargas has played twice the innings at 3B as Sosa.

Here's the bigger issue: these are (were) two of the best players on the team.  So again, what does this say about Sox management?

For some reason, I don't think giving away Lenyn Sosa is going to cost the White Sox any championships.

You are correct, sir! The issue is the team is weaker now that he is gone, and not only did Getz not improve the team, he didn't get anything for him.

Nothing good.

Vargas has been pretty darned good defensively this year, but neither are core pieces IMO.

I appreciate this post, it really highlights how Vargas is just as bad as Sosa is.

Not Sox related but this is fitting. (Actually technically kinda if you count Kimbrel)

He should have pushed to dump Beni. I think it's just as likely that Getz just didn't want to be on the hook for that as JR just not letting him do it.
Still, it's hard to understand how Getz gets so little in this trade when Toronto was the needier party. He either doesn't recognize leverage or refuses to use it.

I don't anything much will be lost here...then again, look at freaking Mead with the Nats...some on here kept telling me that he had the chops to be good.

Pretty sure ChiSoxPoop.com and WhiteSoxArse.com are both available. Someone register the domain — I’ll make the website and write a daily satire publication.

Not joking. If anyone is interested shoot me a DM. I’d have done it already and have made the site already as a part of this response if I wasn’t so flat fucking broke. 😆🤦🏻‍♂️

f*** divorce and California Family Law - I swear that s%*# set me back a good 10 to 15 fucking years.

Anyhow… Jordan Rich. Yay. Wahooo. Jump for fucking joy!

Getz said they had him on their draft board last year… so look out!

So if he would have dropped to the 18th round, they would have grabbed him??
