May 15May 15 Got a lot of key hits tonight. Kay did excellent to go 6+, pen did enough. Defense did enough. Offense did enough. This series Sox def looked like the better overall team. More dangerous at bats.
May 15May 15 I’ve been giving it some thought, and I’m really starting to buy that it’s way better to take 5 of 7 from the Royals than lose every game to them for two years.

May 15May 15 Your Chicago White Sox have a winning record in May! 22-21 is T-4th best record in the AL.Kay turned in a great start with much needed length. The much-criticized lineup did their part led by Grichuk, with some manufactured insurance late.Their W5 is the longest active in MLB. They are 12-9 at home.Their 8-4 record in May is T-5 in MLB and the best in the division. The Sox have 5 wins vs. KC with two series to play, more than all of 2024 and 2025 combined.Through 7 games in the season series, both teams have only scored 0, 2, 5, or 6 runs.DET lost, MIN won, CLE was off. 1 GB of 1st, sitting in WC2 with a game over SEA.

May 15May 15 https://sports.yahoo.com/articles/matt-quatraro-looking-move-forward-205715799.htmlThis goes back and the Royals had been playing well entering Chicago...something just seems off with that team and/or manager. They shouldn't be looking up at the Twins in the standings.Just didn't have that fight in them...desire to avoid the sweep, persistence perseverance resilience, whatever you want to call it.

May 15May 15 In defense of Acuna, or of playing Acuna, I think he's the only backup infielder on the team. He allows Venable to mix and match Peters, Grichuk, Kelenec, Hill and Acuna in RF and CF. The Sox always got into trouble when they'd have one of those and dub them the starter. Those guys are role players (I guess Peters could be more). If not Acuna, it would be a utility infielder. The clogger, of course, is our .603 OPS designated hitter. That is getting ridiculous. Bring up Gonzales. I guess they don't want to expose him - but not much is lost by exposing him as he doesn't have much value anyway. And there could be a good gain. And he could be the backup infielder.

As you said replacing Beni with someone should be done sooner rather than later.

May 15May 15 Welcome back to the land of the living (over .500) White Sox.After so many years of the Royals sticking it up Sox teams rear ends it's nice to see a change in fortune. Now please guys don't roll over and die to the Cubs.

That's over 13%.It's quite possibly the difference between their "up and coming" reputation and a world where they are coming off 9 consecutive losing seasons since 2017 instead.
