JGon with a 113.6mph line drive home run.

Montgomery 106mph oppo shot not long after.

Braden is really adjusting to AAA quicker than I thought.

Gonzalez with his 2nd HR of the day. Call this MFer up already.

Guy has proved all of us wrong this year

Maybe DH vs RHP?

Any concern with Teel coming out early? Was reported that the plan was for him to catch the entire game.

The plan was 7 innings for today

Ramping up...

Educated guess 7-10 days away for Teel.

Probably don't want to subject him to the West Coast road trip...after SFG seems the likeliest scenario.

On the Sox broadcast tonight McKnight said they want him to catch 9 innings at least once (maybe twice, not sure if it's misheard that) before they activate him.

DH, backup any position in the IF.
It will help avoid or minimize the "Sunday lineup."
The risk of underselling is too great to trade him blind.

To increase his value, he needs at least a 750-800 ops (or higher) for 100-150 at bats in the majors with at least above average defense.

I really want to add Gonzo and Braden's homers to the Colson, Mune, Vargas trio. Then throw Kyle Teel in there.

Things can get so much more fun.

2026 (before Charlotte numbers)

Scouting grades: Hit: 45 | Power: 40 | Run: 40 | Arm: 55 | Field: 50 | Overall: 40

Gonzalez starred in college at Mississippi, winning national freshman of the year accolades in 2021 and a College World Series championship in 2022 while also starting for the U.S. collegiate national team both summers. When questions about his athleticism creeped up during his junior season, he slipped from a potential top-five pick to No. 15 overall, where he signed for an under-slot $3.9 million. He has done little damage as pro, slashing .232/.310/.335 in his first three seasons while reaching Triple-A.

While Gonzalez has continued to control the strike zone and consistently put the ball in play just like he did with the Rebels, he has lapsed into a defensive approach at the plate and makes too much soft contact. After displaying 25-homer power potential in college, he rarely turns his left-handed stroke loose and rarely drives the ball with authority. Adjustments to quicken his load, improve his bat path and allow him to pull more pitches won't make much difference unless he swings with more intent.

Gonzalez has below-average speed but his instincts allow him to play better than that on the bases and in the field. He has sure hands, solid arm strength and a finely calibrated internal clock, though he's not particularly rangy. Primarily a shortstop in his first two years as a pro, he spent more time at second base in 2025 and may not be more than utilityman unless he gets his bat going.

Fuller was talking Jacob Gonzalez up in the Spring as a guy who had really embraced their program. The bat speed has obviously improved (it had to). The question is: where do you play him? Sox three best players play ss, 1b, 3b. Those are all positions he has played. I think if he were fast enough to play of, he would already be getting reps there. He can play 2b, but Meidroth is a better defender and has been coming on with the bat. It’s a good problem to have.

Fine. He can get that
I think "buying" is a fool's game anyway.

If you can drop Benintendi the DH position can rotate between infield instead out outfield and he could be part of it.
