Just have to keep developing hitters and then trade for starting pitching that’s already developed

The fact we are about to enter August and none of Schultz, Hagen, or Tanner have instilled any confidence in their ability to be major league pitchers is a massive concern. Throw in the complete Oppor meltdown and the ride range of injuries and it raises a lot of questions. Bannister feels like a guy who tries to get too cute and outsmart everyone. Changing Noah’s slider that was considered one of the best pitches in the minors is an example of that.

Dare I mention it again, but we do draft a lot of guys with funky deliveries and low slot. our 2 best pitchers drafted this century were low slot, but perhaps we are going to the well a bit often. Those guys often have control issues.

Shelton figuring it out perhaps?

Yeah, Mason decided to walk 3 guys in the 9th while up 6-0. Also gave up a hit. Luckily only gave up 1 run. Sorry for jinxing the pitching line.

Just looking at Birmingham, we'll probably have a wave ready early next season at least offensively: Bonemer, Shelton, B. Smith. Some players move so fast these days.
We'll do what we do over the next week, but offseason is the time to sort that out (especially as the price for pitching is lower then). Friendly Boston seems to have an endless supply of young pitching, but no luck at all in the middle infield (except for the guy they traded to us).
