Peralta does have the pedigree to command a return; he was 5th in CY last year and has plenty of playoff experience.I would rather have a controllable player if possible.

He's probably not really a catcher and at 23 this is probably the most hyped he'll be as a prospect. Selling high on a 23 year old not ready to help us in Chicago is fine imo.

Using him as a trade chip to improve the MLB club for a playoff push is exactly what he should be used for IMO. But the fact this even leaked, it likely isn't going to happen - Getz and co. are always flying under-the-radar.

Boston Smith I'd be hesitant on though because he's got a chance to be at least a good backup catcher and I'd have trouble trading that for a rental of a guy who will probably give you 4th starter performance.
