1 hour ago1 hr I really think we will regret letting Pereira go. Still need a RH corner outfielder / DH option for next year and beyond.

Still need a RH corner outfielder / DH option for next year and beyond.I really liked the idea of Pereira. I am saddened to see him DFAed. Doyle is a guy. That seems like a very risky move, coupled with the Pereira DFA. It straddles "balls in a wheel barrow" and pure hubris. As the late Mayor Harold Washington had said, "You know what Hubris is, don't you? That's audacity....Gone Wild!"

10 minutes ago10 min I think MLBTR sums up the situation, nicely. Cardinals Claim Everson Pereira - MLB Trade RumorsPresumably, the rebuilding White Sox were open to giving the out-of-options Pereira a decent amount of playing time this year. However, he hit the injured list in early April with a left ankle sprain. He came back quickly but hit the IL again in late April due to a pectoral strain. He came back in June but quickly returned to the IL due to a concussion. Around all the IL stints, he only got into 27 games. The Sox emerged as legitimate contenders along the way and no longer had the ability to be patient with his development.
