Alex Weingartner's speed and arm are really impressive. I would love to see him patrolling CF at the Rate down the road.

I wish Boston Smith was on that list. 5 more HRs since the trade. We might really regret that trade.

Do you have a sense of where the Sox farm system would rank overall in MLB now when adding the 2026 draft picks and subtracting the players who have graduated to the majors (Braden Montgomery, etc.)?

Great work as usual from the FS team.

It is brutal how little contribution the international market is giving their system. Four prospects on this list and they are all in the bottom half (#15, #19, #29 and #30). It would be hard to find another system with that poor of return on investment.

The silver lining is Bonemer was a draft steal and they have several prospects that are going to help the big league club this season. The Sox desperately need this 2026 draft class to be special for depth purposes.

All the external ratings so far have the Sox ranked anywhere from 7th to 10th, right there with the Tigers after the Skubal/Mize trades and the Guardians and Twins, too.

Mariners Dodgers Brewers usually the top three...Pratt/Laura losing their eligibility soon but MIL still has an impressive system overall.

I think Boughton and Brown will be much higher this time next year.

Depending on high how you'd have Roch and Caleb in a top 50 list probably like 18-25. If you have both guys solidly in top 25, probably around 18, if not, closer to 25. As @royoung posted, just absolutely zero depth coming from LA. For now it will have to come from this latest draft, which seems promising on paper.

The good news is obviously that the MLB talent base is greatly improved, and the system isn't as important as it was this time last year. We've got MLB regulars or better at most spots now, so in theory less pressure on the farm over the coming few seasons.

Since he's only 18, maybe you'll also see him patrolling CF in the South Loop. 🙃

I have a hard time believing he wouldn’t be ranked higher than Sandlin at #9, a dude who is turning 26 this winter, especially after what we have seen from him already.

Unless I missed his name, and I checked both lists twice: Is anyone else rather concerned (really concerned) that Thome’s kid, whom we traded Gonzales and Eisert to be able to move up and draft, that Thome’s kid is not in the top 30 list and he’s not on the “just missed top 30” list either?

Does that we traded away two somewhat/ rather valuable pieces for him, and his name is nowhere on our to 40 or so prospects, is that a problem? Did we trade those two guys away to appease Jim Thome?

Yeah, like you said - brutal.

How did it get so bad? For years, I've heard people say it's because of the David Wilder scandal, but that was almost 20 years ago. Is it because the organization just doesn't invest in scouting for Latin America?

Is there any hope that the LA situation will improve anytime soon. More specifically, has the organization made any changes to rectify the situation?

SoxTalk has been giving the new director who came over from the Mets (Dave Keller) a lot of latitude.

Sox are also just debuting their brand new facility/academy in the DR...so there has been a marked increase in investment, but the biggest problem is draft classes and commitments are now years out.

Pretty sure they were already announcing multi million pledge to guys in the 2028/29 classes, but those guys are all miles and miles from the major leagues at this point.

Another issue is the White Sox never leveraged all their Venezuelan connections beyond the Magglio Ozzie F.Garcia days. Part of it was a safety issue, the majority of mlb teams pulled up stakes down there because the political/militaey/kidnapping environment just became too inhospitable.

Jesus Made? Seems Top 100 milb and Top 10/30/50 internal team rankings and then system rankings are all getting jumbled together.

Haven't seen the Sox ranked anywhere outside the Top Ten overall since this recent draft class.

Very very top heavy with Roch and Bonemer.

Caleb Montgomery will graduate soon...plus you have the Hagen/McDougal gap down to the next tier, which feels quite considerable atm.
