Hes probably a bit better than Acuna albeit not saying much.

He's a nice utility guy for sure. I don't think he moves the needle much, probably more than Acuña, but the potential ceiling is lower. I'd give Acuña another spring training at the very least.

His OPS against lefties this year is 100 points higher than Acuna

FG's database is all screwed up but it seems like he's slightly better than Acuna and we don't need another CF with Doyle added. Does Acuna have an option year? If so easy call. I appreciate what Acuna has done as the 26th man but if we can get better lets do it.

I don't think the squeeze is worth the juice. Mateo is, at best, a very marginal improvement over Luisangel. Acuna is a magician at SS, is faster, and is already comfortable in his role on this team. Mateo may provide a bit more at the dish but that's about the only advantage he has.

Luisangel isn't the issue with this team. We need to be finding a replacement for Grichuk....he's clearly the weak link on this roster at this point in the season.

I can see that as well. This guy is supposed to be very solid at SS as well FWIW. Acuna seems to get a long well with the club and if we have to cut him here I agree, if he has an option might be worth considering if Getz has a good idea of the personality of Mateo and if he'd be willing to be the 26th man.

Mateo actually has a higher spring speed than Acuna but agree overall, may not be worth it regardless.

Is Grich the weak link? .896 OPS vL, .837 OPS total since break. I dunno who you're gonna find on the waiver wire that beats that.

I find those numbers shocking, honestly.

July he had a .653 OPS, .750 so far in August.

I think it's these numbers that make me believe he's not hitting.....

Runners on this season, a .607 OPS

RISP this season, a .404 OPS

Well, Mateo is at least better than Acuna. With Doyle on the team, you don't need Acuna to play CF anymore.
