It’s always good when the Yankees and Red Sox are both eliminated.

Padres really have been through it so far this series. So many things going the Brewers way late.

2/5 teams without a WS still in it

Padres eliminated

Cleveland with the longest standing drought

Lets keep that drought holding.

Prices higher for anticipated Skubal-Misiorowski clash

Anticipation is high in Milwaukee. Per Gametime, as of Thursday, demand for tickets is higher for Game 1 on Sunday in Milwaukee than it was three days prior to the start of the series last season. The median ticket price for Sunday's game was $484 as of Thursday, compared to $345 the same time last year. The get-in price for Game 1 is $249, compared to $160 in 2025.

Adding to the anticipation for Game 1 is an expected pitching matchup between Milwaukee's presumptive Cy Young winner, Jacob Misiorowski, and Dodgers ace Tarik Skubal, who won the AL Cy Young Award with the Detroit Tigers in 2024 and 2025. The median price for Game 2 (Monday) isn't as high, but it's still higher than last year ($357) at $426

Go Brewers! f*** the Dodgers and their $400M payroll.

$339 million LAD vs. $316 million other 3 teams combined

Brewers could have had Skubal but unwilling to trade Jesus Made or Logan Henderson for him...

Notice the contact against MIZ if not swinging at pitches above the belt...

when going good, and it hasn't been for awhile, that lineup just squeezes pitchers to death like an anaconda

only going to get 4-5 innings at most at current pace

got out of it but not fooling anyone either

where was this supremely confident version of Vaughn?

https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/MIL/2025.shtml

replaced #5 7 9 10 11 14 bWAR hitters

big part of that is a healthy Chourio rookies Pratt and Lara

pitch count still way too high for MIZ

Advantage: Brewers' bullpen

The Dodgers offense doesn't feel all that special without a fully healthy Ohtani.

Dodgers with Ohtani and Smith not 100% aren't quite the same team..

Age might finally be starting to catch up to that everyday lineup.

Tucker and Pages are now the only hitters in their primes.

Also, watching MIL shows once again how it's a young man's game more now than ever...just more speed, base running defense, general energy.

Walking Andrew Vaughn to load the bases?

Scott isn't exactly trustworthy despite $68 million deal.

Got out of it.

Whew!!!! Brewers win!

Yamamoto gets the chance to prove he's the best postseason pitcher tmrw night.

Should be fun.

Any chance a Brewers World Series helps avoid a lockout?

It’s the brewers.

They hit fewer home runs than both Cleveland and Tampa in the regular season.

They’re the only team in mlb with a team wide opposite field approach. Tampa is closest. https://www.mlb.com/news/2026-brewers-offense-what-is-working

The brewers have perfected scoring runs without hitting homers. They scored the 2nd most runs in baseball. 100 more than the rays. 150 more than the guardians. It’s just not close. The brewers do it way better than both of those teams.

Milwaukee Brewers

Yep. And, this is one of the many reasons a Rays/Brewers World Series would make for some very interesting baseball. I remain hopeful we can get past Goliath to see the Rays in Milwaukee on October 23.

I think it’s the Brewers.

The Rays are not small ball so much considering they have Caminero. Having a big slugger in the middle of the lineup who can drive in anyone else who gets on base is inherently not small ball.

The Guardians don’t have a small ball offense, they just have a bad offense. The Brewers actually score runs while basically trying NOT to hit home runs.

(A fun fact about the Brewers is their exit velocities were significantly higher than the Cubs’ despite the Cubs hitting for significantly more power. This was all due to approach. The Cubs wanted to hit home runs, so they pulled the ball in the air as much as they could. The Brewers waited to decide to swing as long as possible which leads to more walks but also leads a lot of the contact to be hit into the ground or oppo, vastly dampening their power output. It was intentional, not just a team resorting to small ball because they were incapable of doing anything else.)

Nope…or só we’ve all been told.

But certainly even more pressure on small and mid market franchises to innovate like CLE TB MIL.

IMO, no chance it would change anything.

No.

People like Ken Rosenthal have already discussed that even if it is Milwaukee/Tampa Bay it won't change the owners desire for a salary cap not for competitive reasons but because they want the value of their franchises to increase to the level of the NFL and NBA.

One minute after the CBA expires MLB will announce a lockout.

The Athletic reported a few days ago a multi page memo has already gone out to teams detailing what they are to do and how they are to react when it begins.

https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/guardians-vs-rays-alcs-preview-can-jose-ramirez-and-co-keep-rolling-against-no-1-seed-tampa-bay-014049880.html

Cleveland asked an absolute ton from its pitching staff in the ALDS. Gavin Williams made an emergency relief appearance between his two brilliant starts. Top righty bullpen arms Cade Smith and Hunter Gaddis pitched in all five games. Three other relievers — Erik Sabrowski, Tim Herrin and Shawn Armstrong — appeared in at least three. The bye week might have prepared them to handle that workload against Chicago, but there's no such break before they take on Tampa Bay, and the Rays' offense is built completely differently than the whiff-happy White Sox lineup that struck out at a record-setting rate.

Series prediction: Rays in 6

Two years ago, the Guardians went the distance in the ALDS against a division rival and won a memorable Game 5, only to be eliminated in the ALCS by a top-seeded AL East club. Will history repeat itself? It might be trending in that direction, but there are some significant differences between the Rays team the Guardians are about to face and the Yankees club that dispatched them in 2024. Tampa Bay has been incredibly consistent all year, but it doesn't feature a trio of generational sluggers like Aaron Judge, Juan Soto and Giancarlo Stanton, all of whom did major damage against Cleveland two years ago.
