11 hours ago11 hr Pauley is out of options. I'd think the Sox are going to try to sneak him through waivers later in the offseason. Don't really see the fit of carrying a 3B on the team with Vargas and Monty on the roster, and Charlotte needs bodies.
11 hours ago11 hr Pauley has the markings of a guy who gets claimed and DFA'd about 7 times before the season begins. Closest thing to interesting that I'll note is that he seemingly transformed as a (minor league) hitter after being traded to Miami, suddenly striking out more and hitting for less power. Might be just hitting the wall rather than any meaningful change though. He had a brief spurt of good contact hitting in AAA after his initial cup of coffee but it's been pretty stinky in the high minors for him overall. Seems like he profiles as the human manifestation of a replacement player unless the Sox believe that Miami broke something in him and he can reclaim the glory days of his time in the SD org.No idea what to think about Ky Bush. He was marginal when healthy but would have had a shot to show what he could do in '25 and '26 had he been healthy. We never got much info about why he was unable to come back in '26 other than that it was health-related. I guess he'll get the pleasure of pitching in Charlotte. There will be some more Tommy John chips to fall I think.
11 hours ago11 hr cool, Getz is much better at the end of 40 man churn that Hahn, who held worthless guys forever.

Once upon a time Bush was seen as a touch higher ceiling, but then he was only throwing like 92mph for some reason. I think the Sox were seeing him as someone whose realistic outcome might have been something like Bryan Hudson (and it might still be, given that Hudson has pioneered the "get DFA'd a bunch" career path)

Honestly, if nothing is wrong with him (which there may well be) I would have preferred Bush to be rostered vs Pauley.
8 hours ago8 hr As far as the Graham Pauleys of the world are concerned, I am surprised to hear Heston Kjerstad cleared waivers. Life comes at you fast when you're 27 and hit like poopie in MLB.
8 hours ago8 hr https://www.thebaseballcube.com/content/player/224575/Pauley 833 career milb ops.Can work with that...but they already have Baldwin Acuna Murray.Charlotte depth.

5 hours ago5 hr Does this mean that Ky Bush and Junior Pérez are eligible to play in the minor leagues next year during the lockout?
