June 13, 200421 yr WE HAVE A f***ING CLOSER! Did you guys see him? He was so damn happy! CONGRATS SHINGO!
June 13, 200421 yr 1-2-3 by a closer? Theres a tear coming out of my eye, congrats Shingo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
June 13, 200421 yr Poor billy koch, have fun riding the bench the rest of the season. Go shingo! i love you
June 13, 200421 yr Shingo is the f***ing man. He should have been the closer a long time ago. Congrats Shingo on his first save and there should be many more to come for him
June 13, 200421 yr Question: What if Ozzie doesn't get tossed? Does he bring in Mr. Zero. or does he go with Kotch and risk blowing another One?
June 13, 200421 yr Question: What if Ozzie doesn't get tossed? Does he bring in Mr. Zero. or does he go with Kotch and risk blowing another One? Old Socks, always bringing the negativity. Tisk tisk. Billy's role is cleanup. Billy cleaned up the mess Garland made. Billy's new job is to just, not suck real real badly.
June 13, 200421 yr Question: What if Ozzie doesn't get tossed? Does he bring in Mr. Zero. or does he go with Kotch and risk blowing another One? Thats a tough call. It would have been the first situation since the last time Billy Koch blew the game in Seattle. So I don't know if anyone knows what he would have done.
June 13, 200421 yr It's also not like players or the coaching staff cannot go and talk to him there is no rule against that. As long as he is not in the dugout.
June 13, 200421 yr Question: What if Ozzie doesn't get tossed? Does he bring in Mr. Zero. or does he go with Kotch and risk blowing another One? you're naive if you don't think that decision had already been made before Ozzie was tossed. I was wondering why he(Baines) didn't go to Shingo earlier. Put shingo out there instead of Politte, and the game would have finished 10-6. Shingo still gets the save. I don't understand why Major League manager baby thier closers so much. Facing two extra batters would not have hurt Shingo, and it would have saved a whole lot of headaches.
June 13, 200421 yr I hope he officialy is dubbed the closer now; we don't really need closer by committee w/ Shingo in the pen.
June 13, 200421 yr Shingo kicked ass. Read my signature. Old Socks, I was thinking the same thing. Honestly I was like, yeah, he hit it right on the noggin.
June 13, 200421 yr That effort set up Takatsu in the ninth. He raced in from the bullpen to a standing ovation from the crowd seated down the left-field line and retired J.D. Drew, Chipper Jones and Johnny Estrada on three ground balls with seven pitches. Takatsu extended his scoreless streak to 20 1/3 innings, his streak of batters retired to 19 straight and lowered his earned run average to 1.16.
June 13, 200421 yr I dont think there should be any more question about it. Singo should be our closer. He won over the fans tonight and hopefully Ozzie too.
