I don't think you can really understand how rough 56 is until you sit down and really root for a player to get there. 56 is is almost unimaginable. JUGGERNAUT Posted June 16, 2004 Share Posted June 16, 2004 This is a tough record to go after. Quite a bit of it is dependant on the team. I think I read that there were about 6 times during the streak that Lee extended the streak in his last ab & 4 of those times he was not likely to get the ab. A late SOX rally gave him the opp to extend the streak. It's a remarkable acheivement for both Lee & the SOX considering how long it's been since someone challenged it.
