October 29, 200421 yr yeah, I wasn't suggesting that we necessarily HAD to change anything, i just thought there could be a way to reward individuals for having cool heads and bringing new ideas to the table. Maybe have two permanent mods and then one rotating? I don't know, maybe we shouldn't change a thing. The only problem I think with having that small amount of mods is that if none of them are on-line, along with some admin, which has happened before, then a fight could be going on and nobody could be doing anything about it.

If I'm thinking along the lines of what he's thinking, I agree with him. Personally, I think it's a great idea. Have say 2 moderators per forum, plus a rotating moderator, and then have 2-3 global moderators too, along with all the admins.
October 29, 200421 yr To be honest I'm not much of a fan of it for one reason. I like the idea but I don't want to see this stuff turn into a popularity contest. I'm more then willing to listen to ideas, but at this point I'm very happy with the mod/admin team. Some things could still get better, but hell, I like the site

The last thing I want is people having an ego because their mods or admins or anything like that. I'll tell everyone first hand, the job f***ing sucks.

October 29, 200421 yr I think it is a great idea. I have mentioned it through the various channels. I also wanted to start a guest moderator program to allow some people who are busy to jump in for a month or so and put their touch on a given forum. I have been involved in many real world projects and organizations that run on volunteer labor. The fairest way for the organization and volunteer is a time limit on their involvement.
