I hate the idea of Ortiz. yeah...but ortiz would be a very good 4th option in our rotation.....then garland or contreras....(whichever we have at the start of next season) would be a solid number 5. Putting Buehrle Garcia and Pavano in the first three spots. I like the idea....but too bad that's what it is...an idea. We most likely won't sign all three let alone one of them.

November 10, 200421 yr I think we can all pretty much write Pavano off, but it doens't hurt to at least inquire about him. Maybe he has this fascination for Chicago and we just don't hear it. Trust me, I think the media just knows Boston and NY are going to be involved so they just imply things and a player would be stupid not to say they wouldn't be interested cause both teams have deep pockets. The player is thinking like a GM is, when you try to get the Yanks or BoSox interested in one of your players on the block because when one is interested the other gets involved and bids the price up. However, I want Matt Clement if healthy and if the Sox are not going to trade for one of Zito, Mulder, Hudson, RJ. Their are other options like Pineiro, Jerome Williams, but those options should only be explored if the Sox are going to go another option and upgrade the offense and deepen the bullpen.

KW loves him for some reason, he'll get him. If he did in fact trade for ortiz, there is nothing he could do to make this a decent off-season. In all honesty, if he did that he would need to be fired on the spot. Everyone else knows he would get lit up here, why not one of the people that should know most?
