I know this. My point was that IU's had a lot of things hurt them that they really had no control over.

Iowa couldn't quite pull it off, solid effort by them though. I'm sure this has already been mentioned but I have to give props to my home state.

You know you were sweating it out thinking I may of just been right. Hell, I hate being proud of a loss, but playing Illi like the Hawks did I gotta be happy. s*** though, when its that close you just really wish they could of pulled off the upset.

Illinois played their worst game of the year so far and still got the win. They proved they could still win even on a horrid shooting night. Powell and Augustine played terrible. Ingram was huge off the bench. Luther basically carried this team for a lot of the night and Dee was clutch as always. Deron's trying too hard to make flashy passes instead of taking the open shots when he has them. It seems he's lost confidence in his shot but Illinois is gonna need better performances from him down the road.

 

Anyone know if Brian Randle is planning on playing this year or not, I haven't heard anything in a while. He would give them a huge boost off the bench.

Getting Randle back would be huge.

A decision on randle is supposed to come in the next week or two. Personally, i'd like to see him come back (as opposed to red shirting). I think he gives us something off the bench we currently don't have, a 3/4 who plays some pretty good defense and is versatile. Currently we have 2 bigs off the bench who can bang inside on D and get some fouls, and one guard off the bench. Randle would be a dream in the NCAA's to guard a guy like, say, Jawad Williams, or a player of that nature. Any game where we get in foul trouble in the tournament and Randle would become very valuable.

God, KU is gonna have to lose one of these eventually.

The play so many close games against average and subpar teams.
