December 9, 200421 yr For the 90th time... Finley will NOT BE LEAVING THE WEST COAST. At the deadline last year, he refused to go to any time outside the west coast, so he could be close to his family. His family lives in San Deigo and he has made it very clear that he wants to stay close to home. This one ain't happening fellas. That's not the point of this thread. It's not to say who you think we'll get. It's who you want us to get, at least that's the way I saw it.

But to say Finely is just like saying Beltran or Pujols...It's that distant of a possibilty; that's my point. Now, my guy was Kendall...didn't happen, so I'm on the Edgar train.

December 9, 200421 yr Now Addy, don't be a spoilsport I'm a Finley man myself. I wanted him at the deadline. He's up there in age, but they guy still has a lot of game. He looked fantastic with the Dodgers, plus he's a good ol' Saluki.
December 9, 200421 yr I'd love Renteria, especially if he can/will lead off and Varitek. Realistically I'd be happy with Palanco, Wilson Alvarez and maybe Jeff Nelson. Looking over the free agent list, I wonder if Rusty Greer has anything left. He used to whip up on us everytime we played Texas. I also haven't heard a thing about Jeff Kent. What kind of money is he looking for?
December 9, 200421 yr Author I'm a Finley man myself. I wanted him at the deadline. He's up there in age, but they guy still has a lot of game. He looked fantastic with the Dodgers, plus he's a good ol' Saluki. Name a team in baseball that couldn't use Steve Finley. I go to SIU so there is some pride with him there. However, I barely admit I go tehre after losing to Hawaii and Arkansas-Little Rock.
December 9, 200421 yr Ok, Hudson's going to the Cards. So I'll say it again....Garland/Anderson for Marcus Giles/prospect.
December 9, 200421 yr Author The a's are hard after giles though. That 3-way trade makes a lot of sense and we all know Billy boy loves multi-team trades.
December 9, 200421 yr the guys i want our nick johnson and odalis perez... perez being a solid pitcher and not too expensive and johnson being that he has a lot of potential and although injured often wouldnt really cost a lot.
December 9, 200421 yr Edgar Renteria and Odalis Perez. If KW signs both of these guys I’d scream “Merry f***ING Christmas!!!” to every person in my neighborhood.
December 9, 200421 yr For signings, my wish list includes Matt Clement (been a fan since his Padre days), Wilson Alvarez (best #5 starter available) and JEFF KENT for second base. Wishful thinking I know.
December 9, 200421 yr Renteria/Vazquez I think we can get. But I want Perez/Renteria (maybe N. Johnson)
December 9, 200421 yr Screw the small names, I want Renteria, Soriano and Vazquez. Call me dreamy, but don't tell me it ain't possible.
December 9, 200421 yr Off season: Polanco, Koskie, Lieber, Perez Those already on the Sox: Rowand, Maggs, Garland, Cotts, Uribe, Gload
December 10, 200421 yr The guy I want on the Sox the most is Soriano... Since that won't be happening, I want Junior Spivey as the White Sox 2nd Baseman.
December 10, 200421 yr Since we're dreaming... SP: Mark Mulder would change Chicago, and I'm all about Southside pride. -- Second Option: Vazquez or Perez - enough said. SS: Placido Polanco because he has some pop and his bat, and I could see him shoring up the middle infield with Uribe for the next couple years. -- Second Option: Renteria at 2B, Uribe at SS -- not a bad runner up. C: AJ Pierzynski while I hated him with the Twins, would add some fire and emotion to the Sox, and may have ripped off Hunter's head had he been knocked over like Burke last year (and I really like Burke). -- Second Option: Charles Johnson -- Not quite the player he used to be, but I would imagine could be had relatively inexpensively, and I liked what I saw when he was here.
