I actually like it w/ sigs...i dunno, it just helps you get more familiar w/ the posters.

Anyone who has a VGA capable card/monitor can do 640x480. This should cover about 99.9% of the posters on Soxtalk.

Strongbad using the text-based browser made me wonder how this site would look on one of those.

Agreed. It took some getting used to (coming from much more simplistic boards) but I like it. Now if only I could find the time to join in the fun. :D

I agree that sigs can be too tall and therefore become an annoyance. If there is a need for me to alter mine, one of the Admins shoot me an IM and I'll do so.

I have sigs turned OFF because, while they may be signs of individuality, from your sigs, I'd rather not know quite a few of you as individuals :P

Actually, two of the reasons I turned off sigs and avatars is that (1) a couple of people had politically-charged avatars or sigs that I didn't like (this is a SOX board), and I didn't want their political beliefs getting in the way of how I responded to posts (and to tell you the truth, I can't even remember who was what now, which was the point); and (2) DonkeyKongerko's sig mesmerized me a little too much. For some reason I just watch that chick doing her dance over and over...it's a little weird.

His avatar is a good reson for me to never turn off the sigs/avatars.

I need to learn how to read lol...

There have been times when I found a great picture and thought to myself how great an avatar it would make. Every time, I realize I could never dump Alizee.

And for that, I thank you.

:notworthy

well I'm officially retarded. Shoulda clicked the more dot, not the 640x480 one. Maybe the need for sleep has finally caught up to me.

None of the sigs here bother my screen cause it's always set to 1600x1200. If one has a sig or picture that would make me scroll from side to side, then it's hella large.

lol...man, I do the same thing sometimes. :bang

I have to admit I  had to stop viewing sigs because it slows the hell out of my puter....most are cool but they take friggin forever to load sometimes...

This from a guy with two giant sigs?

Anything larger than 600 wide by 250 tall is too large.

i think 500 x 200 should be max size of sig (that should encompass almost everything any of the sig makers on this board have ever done), as well as a limit on how many lines of text and their size in a sig.

Mine is 175 * 500 and that seems to be a pretty good size. Something around that dimension, 200 * 500, sounds pretty good though.

Uhhh.. you know, you can put her in your sig area next to your signature.

Completely, totally, 100% agree.

His gets my vote for avitar of the year (and we can retire that award permanently). :notworthy

I just sit there and stare at it. I'd love to know where you got it.

Having one around is perfect, two is too many. Don't ever change. :D

I think a height and width limit would be a great idea. I also think we need some sort of general agreement of what is and isn't allowed. Recognizing that many of our members are posting from work, or on a family computer, or in a public access point, makes me believe something around PG_13 would be best. I know they can be turned off, but wouldn't it be better if they could be left on without embarrassment?

Make that 2 who feel officially retarded. Except in my case it is because I can't get the avatar to work. Every picture that I have chosen from my hard drive returns an error #2, implying 'file not found'. The path looks right to me. I am using Windows XP. Any suggestions anyone?

I think I found it in an "Alizee Appreciation Thread" on some other message board, possibly nforce.nl.

I'm not personally offended by anyone's sigs or avatars but has anyone ever been viewing Soxtalk in public and you feel like you have a porn site up? When people ask, I have to explain what it is I'm actually looking at. If it's the Hot Chick Contest, I point in the other direction and say, "What the hell is that?" and make my escape.

LMAO!!!!

Thanks.

I don't know what resolution I use, but I hate the huge sigs...when I am at home it takes forever.

The poll should read:

What internet do you use?

Dialup

DSL

Cable

other

The speed of the internet would control how fast each page loads and would help the decision on what size of limit to put on signatures.

I'll start another one at SL&P

I don't think the issue is (for myself at least) how fast the page loads, but rather having a 4-6 inch sig on a one sentence post.
