White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen plans to bat Joe Crede eighth and Willie Harris ninth this season.

That sounds right. Actually, upgrading at second base sounds right, but if they're going to keep playing Harris, he'll do less damage batting ninth.

Well, we ALMOST filled every hole, still an effective offseason. Who knows, maybe Willie will really step up this season.

Well if Willie is going to be our starting 2B thats fine. But what about our utility infielder? I don't know why but I have a hunch KW will sign Barry Larkin to a cheap 1 year deal to fill that void. Doesn't it seem like a KWish type move?

I think that this is a perfect situation for both Crede and Harris to come in with less pressure and hope to save their careers.

alright and can agree with that, willie may be good at the number nine, he can really use his speed and slap ability to get on before spod

I actaully like WIllie batting 9th. He can go into a funk, but be burried in the lineup so he cant hurt us too much. However, if he gets hot, he can be a really good guy to turn the roster over.

I consider Harris to be more of a question mark than hole, simply because he has the tools to be a good player.

I get a feeling that the Sox will sign Iguchi to a 3 yr deal and trade Willie.. Ozzie doesnt seem to like Harris.

Maybe we can get a pitcher for harris and a prospect

I completely agree, especially considering he atleast proved he can be an average ball player last year.

If Willie is the starter, that's fine by me.

A few times last year Ozzie made it clear that he was unhappy with Willie's play, once I think he even said that he realized that Willie is not what they thought he'd be. It surprises me that he hasn't been replaced. I can't imagine that hearing that come from his manager's mouth has given Willie any more confidence for 2005.

Same here.. I dont get why everyone hates Harris, he played good last season just struggled against lefties

Then glue himself to first after that

Batting 9th is the best thing for Harris cause he should see better pitches than what he'd see at lead-off. Same goes for Crede. The further down these two anchors are, the better.
