lol so true. Do you have kids of your own Steff?

No way!! Life is way too busy for anything more than pets. And I don't think a kid would have my appreciation for 50+ baseball games a year right off the bat. Gotta wait till I slow down on that stuff.

I don't get it critic.. Makes you wonder the company they keep that makes them thing pedophelia is ok.  :huh

Not to get TOO serious, but I don't want to judge anyone too harshly here.

I remember ( vaguely, cuz I'm real f***in' old :D ) how I used to think about things when I was a kid.

I didn't take much of anything very seriously, and said a lot of "non-PC" things to get a rise out of people. It was stupid, but it was me at that point.

All I can do now is tell what I'm thinking, based on where things are in my life.

Having a daughter has made any child-related subject REALLY important to me, and I get pretty defensive about that kind of thing.

I know the younger posters realize what's right and what's wrong, but sometimes it's going to happen that you want to joke about things. It's one way of dealing with a serious situation, or just trying to be outrageous.

I'll always try to see the other side, but I'll always tell my side too.

I hope I explained that well enough - I'm reading it now, and I still don't feel like I said exactly what I want to say.

I agree that many here wouldn't have the insite to think rationally about this stuff. Can't really have an opinion until you are responsible for a child. My Godson and my neice have changed the world a lot for me as well.

Yeah I was kinda thinking along the lines of that too. But instead of a 13 year old boy, I have two 13 year old girl cousins, and if something like that happened to them, I'd be real pissed.

and this teacher is a sexual predator who should be locked away for what she did, once it's proven in court.

a 27-year-old woman who has sexual desires towards a 13-year-old boy is every bit as much of a sicko as the reverse would be.

Glad i'm not the only one who thinks this is just as serious as if a Man did it. Mark my words this kid is going to need Therapy and at the very least he's going to have screwed up relationships with women.

Why do you say that, hes 13

He can think and make decisions, did the article say he was raped?

13 year olds cannot legally give consent. So, the article didn't have to say it. The law does.

that has nothing to do with what I said

if the kid was like saying no and was forced to do it, then yeah he might have problems

if he WASNT then I cant agree with what Jeckle is saying

He was raped, whether she used force or not. This woman was placed in a position of trust and power over this boy and she abused both of those. Imagine if your first relationship (sexual or whatever) was based on such a mismatched power dynamic. The reason that this kind of things are illegal is because it takes sex out of the realm of intimacy and makes it about power and control. I don't know how anyone can just walk away from that. Child sexual abuse is child sexual abuse--regardless of how the victim responds to the abuse.

Using that logic, if a kid who is molested by his priest but doesn't say no, or doesn't run away does that mean he won't have problems later? No.

The teacher should be locked away for a looooong time, mainly because she was going after a kid.

But at the same time, I can say that when I was 13 I had a teacher I was head over heals with. I mean, her class is the only class I ever got over 100% in. Straight A student all the way, plus every bit of extra credit you could imagine. My ending percentage was something like 120% or some crazy thing. I was also a kid who had certain things on my mind quite often. I had not experienced anything at that time, and would not for quite a few years yet. But ya know, if the situation had presented itself with said teacher, I am not so sure I would have run to the hills and hid, and I am not so sure I would have ever needed counseling. I think that is why some guys can look at this a bit different. When I was 13-18 I thought of little else. Plus, this teacher is the age of many on this board, so it is being looked at through the eyes of a guy her age, seeing an attractive female, and remembering back to what it was like to be a teenage boy with hormones on overdrive. I defy you to find ONE 13 year-old boy who isn't sneaking pictures or looks at a Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition or Playboy.

What she did was wrong, nobody is condoning what she did on this site. But many here are remembering what some fantasies were when we were 13, and this sure as heck was one of mine.

BUt yeah, send the freak away for a looooong time.

I get where your coming from. I'm 23 so i'm not that far removed from those years and I can remember having a few fantasies. However this isn't about a boy having a fantasy about a teacher. This is about a person in a position of authority taking advantage of someone who doesn't have the presence of mind to fully comprehend what they are doing. This kid at best is going to grow up disrepecting women and at worst is going to need some therapy.

If you had slept with that teacher you would of developed an emotional attachment. More then likely you would of been in "love." I think it's a safe bet this woman wouldn't of felt the same way. Just imagine how tramatic it would be if you did get with her and you find out you didn't mean anything to her.

I'm not saying that this is the case with this kid in particular but it's why the situation is as bad as it is.
