April 24, 200520 yr Garland, Buehrle, Garcia...We've got a tremendous chance to keep this going. Our struggles in Oakland are nothing new to any Sox fan, so here's hoping we can change that theme. One other thing, hopefully this series helps Jermaine out a lot. Returning home into his comfort zone, I am hoping gets him out of this funk. Ozzie better play him all 3 games. We need you big man... April 24, 200520 yr Zitop has thrown well his last two starts and has had great success agains the Sox in his career including last year with a good outing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for two wins.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Zitop has thrown well his last two starts and has had great success agains the Sox in his career including last year with a good outing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for two wins. As hot as Garland, MB and Garcia are right now I'd take them over any other 3 starters in MLB. We just have to go execute and we'll get at least 2 of 3.
April 25, 200520 yr We should win the last game for sure... but the 1st 2 are going to be tough Garland vs Zito and Buehrle vs Harden..... those 2 guys with the way our offense is hitting could toss back to back shutouts.
April 25, 200520 yr Zito, Harden, Sarloos is MUCH better than Harden, Haren, Zito/Blanton so we're lucky in that sense... i think we can win 2 of three
April 25, 200520 yr Does it really matter who we pitch or who is pitching against us. WE ARE PLAYING IN OAKLAND! Thats all that matters. I don't think we've ever won a game there.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Dye had better kill his old team like he killed us when he was with the A's. Didn't work against the Royals.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 05:07 PM) Dye had better kill his old team like he killed us when he was with the A's. Dye appears to still be killing us.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Dye appears to still be killing us. LOL Soooooooooo true.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:40 PM) Dye appears to still be killing us.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 12:30 AM) I will be MORE THAN PLEASED with 2 of 3 out of Oakland. This series will, in my humble opinion, will show if the Sox are the team to beat. The West coast has always been the death of the Sox. If we win 2 of 3 I think it will make a statement for sure.
April 25, 200520 yr This will be an interesting series. I'm glad we swept KC, but they looked even worse than their record and while we won, we didn't exactly look sharp.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 05:06 AM) This will be an interesting series. I'm glad we swept KC, but they looked even worse than their record and while we won, we didn't exactly look sharp. The good thing is, with a struggling Eric Chavez the A's really dont have a good lineup... Id say they have 3 hitters who are a pain in the ass. Kotsay - doing good Kendall - struggling Chavez - struggling so with that said unless the might Hatteburg beats us, we are playing the A's at a good time. Durazo is struggling too.

Kotsay - doing good Kendall - struggling Chavez - struggling so with that said unless the might Hatteburg beats us, we are playing the A's at a good time. Durazo is struggling too. We're struggling offensively too, so that pretty much cancels out. It will come down to pitching.
April 25, 200520 yr QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 25, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) The only bad part is that we drew Harden, who is dominating right now... In one piece a scout thinks he's the AL Cy Young right now, and Beane was smart to lock him up for a good period of time. I extremely doubt we'll keep the streak going, but it's very possible we could win 2 out of 3, and that's what they should be looking to do.
April 25, 200520 yr I worry about them. They have all left-handed bats really and teams lefties are killing Cotts right now and Marte can't work all the time. Buehrle has us covered but I worry about our other set-up men and Garland against all of those lefties, not to mention Shingo. Freddy didn't pitch very well against Oakland last year when we faced them and the A's have seen him a lot.

It's appeared like they have trouble picking up his change specifically. Anytime you strike out Ichiro! by as much as Garland did in the first vs. SEA, you know a guy has got something up his sleeve.
