FutureSox to interview Lance Broadway

Featured Replies

Hey everyone, as I said yesterday I was able to talk to the White Sox's first round pick Lance Broadway and scheduled a tentative interview. Well, that interview is in two hours in which I'll be calling him over the phone to ask him some questions. Since we've always asked our readers to submit questions, the same is true here.

If you have questions for Lance, which I know you do, SUBMIT THEM NOW! I'll have the full interview up after the interview.

Lance do you put a lot more pressure on yourself to succeed early, with as far up the draft boards you shot up in the last few weeks?

Mike Michigan City, IN

Can you tell us a little about what pitches you throw? And, what would you say is your 'best' pitch, your 'out' pitch?

What was it like seeing your stock rise so quickly?

What team did you cheer for growing up?

Are you as handy with the bat as you are pitching?

Lance, what kind of contact did the White Sox have with you leading up to the draft. Duan Shaffer indicates the White Sox have been following your career for three years, when did you know the Sox were definitely interested and who did you talk to?

Jim H.

Lance, what have the White Sox told you about where you are going to start the season? Also did you work out any type of pre-draft deal or are you still under negotiations with the Sox?

Lance, tell us a bit about your stuff and the way you go about attacking hitters.

How was the whole draft experience and when did you know the Sox were going to take you?

Are there any pitches you don't throw that you'd like to learn (ala Este and the cutter)? What pitch do you feel most comfortable with in general (that you use to get a K or out)?

The White Sox have a very solid core of starting pitching. With that said how would you react to starting your major league career in the bulpen? It has worked great for Mark Buerhle and now for Neal Cotts and I think it can do wonders to start your MLB career off.

Have you always been fascinated in broadway?

Which pitcher in the majors right now would you compare yourself with, in terms of pitches, motion, personality, delivery?

If you got to play with any 1 person in the big leagues, who would it be?

Have you had the chance to speak to either KW or Ozzie? If so, what are your impressions of each of them?

If you got to pick a jersey number, what # would you wear?

I've heard you are a good athlete, how would you rate yourself defensively as a pitcher? Also congrats on being the highest drafted TCU player in history.

Did you play any other sports in high school or college?

Thanks for your questions everyone, I'm going to try and incorporate as many of them as possible. I'm calling Lance right now, and the article should be up very soon.

Lance wasn't at home when I reached his house, so there might be a bit of a delay in the interview. So keep submitting questions!

When did you start to play Baseball and have you been a pitcher all your life? Can you play any other positions besides pitcher?
