So far with both players helping thier respective teams. Espically Carlos still beating up on the Cubs. Does anyone know the 2005 win shares between Pods and Lee. Just Curious.

On a side not can anyone really remember a tarde that has helped both teams like this?

We're having good success trading with Milwaukee.

Pods/Viz for Caballo has been very fair for both sides.

We ran away with that Jamie Navarro for Pornstache/Eldred.

God, your sig is awesome. Anyways, ya this trade has worked out tremendously for both teams, Pods and Carlos have both been awesome and I hope they both continue.

Brewers got the better of the trade IMO.. Lee is putting up monsterous numbers where as Vizcaino hasnt done anything but cost us some games and Pods has been solid..

you cant look at it by numbers, with out spod we wouldnt be the stolen base threat we are now and we wouldnt have that amazing leadoff man

maybe.. you dont know what keeping Lee and him doing what hes doing now would do for our team.. you can what if it all you want

I stick by what I said, ide rather have Lee and think Milwaukee won that deal.. Especially now how its painfully obvious we did NOT get fair value for Lee

Just to point something out here.. Pods has 41 Runs scored and CLee has 38.. even with that huge stolen base difference (28) they are both basically even when it comes to scoring runs, where as CLee is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy ahead of Pods in driving in runs..

I'm not saying Pods is a better player than Lee, because he's not.

No I wasnt trying to say that either.. I am just saying that people think Pods is helping this team out way more than Lee would be when thats not really the case..

yes I know the whole salary thingy, but I am just pissed we didnt get enough in return for Lee

Because Carlos hits 3rd/4th in the lineup whereas Podsednik hits leadoff?

Also, those runs stats are slightly skewed. Lee has had about 306 PA's this season, while Podsednik is right around 260. Given the same amount of AB's, the run differential is roughly 47-38.

I'm not suggesting Vizcaino and Podsednik for Lee favored the Sox...because just considering the players, the Brewers got the better end of it. Consider that it freed up $7 mill in salary, which allowed the Sox to sign roughly AJP, Iguchi, and say, Hermanson to, and you consider that it is Viz/AJP/Iguchi/Pods/Hermanson for Lee, and I think you know who is the clear cut winner.

the Brewers? Yes we all know that the point was to free up salary... but that doesnt mean we couldnt of got better players 2... Travis Hinton prob wont ever make AAA let alone the majors, we have seen how worthless vizcaino is, and Pods was coming off a year he only hit .242..... Im pretty sure a player like Clee could of got a lot more than that.

With Pods leading off and stealing 36 bases you would imagine hed have a ton of more runs scored than someone batting 4th, which isnt the case here.. Too many people on here are in love with Pods.. Like I said earlier THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FREE'D UP MONEY, that doesnt matter.. the fact is we should have gotten Pods, Viz, and a good prospect not some throw in nobody like we got..

Didn't I post on this once already?

We HAD Lee for years and won...oh, thats right...we didn't win anything, Minnesota did.

This year, we are winning...because we have balance.

Lee is just another power hitter.

We have plenty of power, WITHOUT Lee.

This team plays baseball, the past three years our team played batting practice.

This years team > Last 3 years combined.

Now STFU about Lee, dumbasses. You're annoying.

** EDIT **

You know whats incredibly annoying about this, and posts like this...take a look at this f***ing team...what in the WORLD do you have to complain about?

Seriously, Carlos Lee?! Is that your complaint?! Now I see why they say no matter what, some people will be malcontent with whatever success comes...if this doesn't proove that, I don't know what does.

We have the best team in baseball.

Let me say that again.

We have the best team in baseball.

Do you really need to nitpick about the quality of trade differential between Lee and Pods?! Honestly? Enjoy what you have...because you have NEVER, in your life, seen a better team than this one. :P :stick

Lee wasnt the reason we didnt won, thats kind of dumb to think that. Here is the reason we never won in the past.... Idonno maybe no 5th starter :bang El Duque since he is our worse starter can be considered it and he is what 7-2... that has to be more wins from our 5th starter in the last 2-3 years alone.

This year we are winning because we 5 good starters... up until lately our offense has been kind of pathetic for most of the season.

In MLB salary has EVERYTHING to do with a trade. Do you think in the real world the Rangers would have accepted just Alfonzo Soriano for Alex Rodriguez? You are kidding yourself if you leave out the $7 million in payroll the Sox freed up, because that is why the deal was done. They knew they need to fill depth and didn't have the money to do it. If they don't do this deal, you are looking at another year of Ben Davis on the roster, Felix Diaz and company in the 5th starter spot, and some 2 more AAA pitchers in the pen in place of Vizcaino, and Hermanson.

The money DOES matter. In fact to this team it was critical. If we don't make the Carlos Lee trade, this team is floundering in 3rd place, yet again, sucking wind to the Twins.
